AN: i should probably be writing the next chapter for breathe but what the hell.
This was inspired by Lana del Rey's Ultraviolence.
The smoke flew away from her mouth like a million dragonflies at night.
Her cloudy vision blurred the color on the graffiti walls making them look like a drunken clown with its make up smudged all over his face.
Her bright cherry lips wrapped around the cigarette while she took another drag, trying to make smoke rings appear on the air.
Her feet hurt because of the long walk to the drug store and then the short one to the alley she now found herself in, all in 6 inch louboutins.
He bought her those, one of many expensive things he showered her with.
The best for the best, baby. He said.
Like the leather jacket that she stole from him, the one she was wearing right now. She knew he knew she had it, he let her keep it.
She inhaled again, puffed the smoke out from her bruised lips and let the cigarette fall to the filthy floor, crushing it under her heeled foot.
He left me.
He said we would be together forever.
He lied.
"Why?" She croaked out holding onto his shirt with tight fists.
"She found our texts, she had my phone bill on her hand the minute i got home from work. Waiting for me, to spit on my face all the things she already knew."
"But we'll work it out. We always do. Remember? When she found my dress? We worked it out. We'll do it again, please." She cried desperately. She couldn't lose him, he's everything she has.
"I know, i know. But not this time."
"Why? Don't you love me anymore?" she said with tears streaming down her face.
"You know it's not because of that. Heaven knows i love you too much."
"Why? Why?"Palms hitting his chest, she was furious. "Am i not good enough for you?"
"Stop."
"Was this always your plan?"
"She is filling for divorce."
"Then why end our love? You'll finally be free!"
"I need to clear the clouds on my head. Besides she threatened to take everything from me. She can prove my infidelity. But if we end things right now and i delete all recent proves she won't have shit against me." He said with confidence.
"Then what?"
"We'll find each other again."
"Until then? That's a long time, how much do you think i can be apart from you?"
"Do you think this is easy for me? That it doesn't tear me apart? I hate this. But we have to do this. We have to, love."
"You are leaving me."
She took a big gulp of air and released a strangled cry, echoing in the empty alley.
They were happy.
She knew his friends, the real ones, she got along with them. Her best friend adored him, even though she always told her this would be the result of their secret love.
But how something so beautiful could be so wrong?
Why couldn't they have met sooner, when he was single and their love didn't have to be just at night?
They were great together. Best thing on both of their lives.
He had half of her closet and half of her bathroom, her fridge full of his favorite sweets and snacks, her living room full of his movies. And her room full of his smell, his scent emanated from her sheets and pillows printed with the shape of his head.
Everything in her life was pure him.
He couldn't leave.
Tears streaming down her face, mascara making her look like a raccoon, silent screams buried deep into her soul, hands pressed hard against her mouth, nails digging into her cheeks, clawing angry red lines.
Lips pressed against her neck, tongue lapping at her pulse point, hands digging finger printed bruises on her hips, body pressed onto hers.
She moaned loudly while he whispered obscene things on her ears.
Her hips bucked against his while his hand went to her naked breast and pulled at her nipple.
His lips trailed wet kisses until they rested against hers, kissing her like a starved animal finding meat on the inside of her mouth.
She felt full of life, full of need, full of him. Everything was ending, everything she worked so hard to get was crumbling at her hands and there was nothing she could do but kiss him goodbye.
Her tears melted against his cheeks, while her fingers pulled at his scalp, making him open his eyes to look at her wet ones.
"This is not the last time we will see each other. This is not a goodbye, remember that."
He kissed her with all the passion he could muster and made love to her while the only thought in his head was to remember, because this might be the last time he will feel like this.
She could still feel his fingers against her body, his touch burning her skin like they were made of fire.
"This is not the last time." She whispered to herself between sobs, trying to breathe through her hiccups.
"I, I will be king. And you, you will be queen. Though nothing will drive them away , We can beat them, just for one day" he sang softly in her ear when they were done.
She wrapped her arms against her waist and sang softly to herself while her body moved itself to sit down on the floor.
His arms wrapped tightly around her body, he danced slowly with her to the music.
"We could be heroes, just for one day"
"Though nothing, will keep us together. We could steal time, just for one day. We can be Heroes, for ever and ever, what d'you say?" Spit sliding down her lips, while tears continued to slip past her lashes, wetting her face with black lines, her body rocking back and forth while she repeated their song on her mind.
Her body, covered in his shirt and denim shorts she found on the floor of her room, moved silently behind his while he picked most of his things, deciding to not let any clues in their love shack.
He was leaving her.
This was real.
He was going back to her.
He was leaving her.
The pain was unbearable, she was sure she was going to die on that alley, bleeding from her broken heart. She was dead inside.
"Can you feel that?" he asked his palm over hers, against his beating heart. "It beats for you. I'll come back for you. You just wait."
"You'll come back, i know you will. She has nothing on me. I'm everything you'll ever need and want. I can have your babies, we can be a family." She cried while she pictured a blue eyed blonde baby, not for the first time thinking of the what ifs. What if he wasn't married.
Desperation bubbled inside her once he closed the door. She knew his car was on the front of her building, fully loaded with all of his things, waiting to return the devil's mannor.
He's leaving.
She threw the door open and ran down the stairs, chest aching so bad she thought it might collapse and she wouldn't make it on time.
He turned around just in time to catch her, her legs around his waist, arms clenched tight around his neck, and mouth pressing urgently against his.
They kissed violently and desperately, knowing this would be the last time they would be together.
"You can't leave me." She mumbled against his lips.
"This will-"
"I don't give a damn about her, stay, please." Finally on her feet, she pleaded him, once again fisting her hands on his shirt.
"I can't."
"I'm begging you."
"I'll come back for you. I'll be free, and we can be together for good. I'll put a big rock on your finger and buy you a huge house with a pool and a closet so big filled with as many clothes as you want. But not now."
She kissed him again, feeling and tasting his lips, crying against them.
He was leaving.
"I'll come back for you."
"You promise?"
"I swear."
That's how she found herself trying to make herself feel better, putting the most expensive outfit he had bought her, trying to make herself look like her so everybody could see that their love was not wrong.
But the only people who saw her were the man in the drug store who sold her the pack of cigarettes and the creep in the park who cat called her when she stumbled across the street.
Her lips were still swollen from their kisses. Her most intimate part still ached with the memory of him inside.
"Come back for me, please." She cried.
Everything was wrong.
She was going to die, she was sure.
He left her.
He said he would never leave.
"I'll love you forever." He mumbled against her lips.
"I'll love you forever." She said back.
He was leaving her.
As i said this one-shot was inspired by Ultraviolence but my iPod played Heroes by David Bowie and i thought it fitted perfectly.
