Ozpin sipped his coffee as he walked, the dull police station brimming with activity as he looked at the head officer, him adjusting his glasses a little.

"so, what do we have here?"

"Well, we're not entirely sure yet. Apparently this kid just turned himself in, he said he was responsible for a death. So, we put him on one of the cells after getting his prints." The officer slightly straightened his posture as he presented a dossier to ozpin, his hands opening said document. "His name is Bari Cantus. Age 16, height 5' 6"."

The image of said person depicted a teenager that had amber eyes, slight hints of gold in them as if they were small embers trying to stick to whatever life they had before being extinguished. His hair, even though slightly slicked back and messy, was a deep orange with red in it, the follicles resembling a burning flame. His current clothing was a bit typical of a dj, yet had some of his own creativity put into it. His shirt was a button up dress shirt, its pale white seeming rather dull compared to the neon orange vest that he was sporting, its buttons a deep red. As Ozpin trailed his eyes across the picture, he would see that his shoulders were adorned with two shoulder plates, a symbol of a record surrounded by a ring of some sorts upon the left plate. Once he had gone down his arms, he would see that the shirts sleeves bunched up around his elbows while a pair of scarlet red fingerless gloves adorned his hands, the threads a deep amber that rivaled his eyes.

As he would be reading, the officers scroll would go off, to which said officer looked at what message he had just gotten.

"Says here the kid worked in the club where the deaths took place."

"And he's claiming responsibility for these deaths?" He looked at the officer with a raised brow as he brought the mu full of a delicious brew to his lips before setting it back to its usual resting position. "it seems quite odd that a vicious murderer would turn himself in just out of the kindness of his heart"

"Well, this is Vale afterall, a lot of strange things do happen here"

"True as that may be, I think I would wish to have a word with this "mass murderer"."

The officer shrugged as he began to lead Ozpin down a corridor, them first seeing interrogation rooms before seeing lights within cells flickering on and off. "Okay, I don't see what you're really going to accomplish by interviewing this guy." he sighed a bit as Ozpin took a sip from his mug. "But if you think you can get any information, we'll be more than glad to hear it."

"I believe that there is a bit more to this "criminal mastermind" than even he seems to believe."

Ozpin said as vaguely as he usually said things, the door opening to the young criminals cell. Inside was the very criminal, although it didn't look like he was one by the way he was sulking. his head was in his hands as he sat on the concrete bed of the jail cell, the light slightly flickering a little more-so than in the hallway.

"So, you're the "murderer" I presume?" Ozpin gazed down at the young man as he brought a chair into the cell, him sitting down in it as if he was having a pleasant conversation in spite of the current circumstances.

"yes...i….it's because of me all those innocent are dead." He sniffled a bit as he rubbed his eyes, him looking at Ozpin now.

"So, you personally killed everyone there?"

"Well…..not personally." he sighed bitterly. "But it's my fault that those people are dead."

"Well, if you personally didn't do it, then it seems like all parties within this scuffle have not accounted for." He adjusted his glasses a little as he took a sip from his mug once more, the delicious fluid within it almost completely gone, yet it was still able to produce a bit of steam that exited out of the cup.

He would look up at Ozpin with a small nod. "Yeah….yeah that is kinda true."

"Well then, why don't you tell me. just what exactly did happen?"

"Are you sure this guy is legit?" One of the young faunus asked his friend, his eyes looking into his as they stood in the rundown building in one of the slums of Vale.

"Oh, I'm very legitimate. Now then, pay attention." Bari would smile, a hint of pride in his voice for his current actions. He had come across the rag tag bunch of faunus when he was walking home, them clearly in need of his help.

"So, where shall we start first?" The faunus that had asked him the question had a pair of fox ears atop her head, her eyes curious of what he was about to teach them, dirty bandages wrapping around her entire arm. A few spots of dirty red from the dried crimson liquid dotted the bandages on her arm.

"Well, first of all, we should start out with the basics." he smirked as he spread his legs underneath himself a bit, him slightly outstretching his arms until his palm was facing them, his other hand tightened into a fist as it rested under his rib cage. "Now then, come at me."

The small rag tag team of faunus in front of him would look at him with confused eyes. "W….who should come at you?"

Bari would chuckle a bit as he wore a smug grin on his youth filled face. "All of you."

"Well, it does seem like you had the best intentions in your heart." Ozpin would look at Bari, a slight hint of sadness in his eyes.

" I know, I know. I should've checked them out to see if they were good people….but I didn't."

"Yes, you should have." He would get up and put a gentle hand on Bari's shoulder. "But right now, what you should do, is finish the story." Ozpin would then return to his chair as the flickering of the lightbulb above them would soon cease. "Yes, you made a mistake, but crying over it and not learning anything, or even doing anything about it will not help anybody."

"A….alright" Bari would sigh a bit as he rubbed his temples, him having a new understanding of his current situation. "I wouldn't see them again until a few months later, by then I was well into my new job DJing at Persephone's"

The bright, neon lights within the club would flash sporadically as they momentarily illuminated the people within the building, their dancing bodies moving to the rhythm of Bari's freshly mixed tracks. He would smile, his fingers nimbly caressing each knob, switch, and turntable that was on his instrument. The lights would seem to be flashing on and off to every beat that he produced, his smile turning into a pride filled grin as he began to build up for the final crescendo, each beat getting faster and faster until the club would seem to get quiet. And then, a beautiful flurry of bass would be produced from the speakers that surrounded him on the stage, the crowd cheering as their dancing matched the violent beating of the music.

As he continued to play his flurry of music, a new group entering into the club, each of the members wearing strange masks that seemed out of place. Each mask had two vertical slits where there eyes were, their odd masks seeming to resemble the very creatures that threatened Remnant.

"White Fang?"

"Yeah….but at the time, they looked like some faunus that needed some help. Nobody can survive in this world alone."

As Bari would continue to mix and remix his tracks, he would soon hear the cheering of the crowd turn into fear filled screams, the group of masked faunus now shooting into the ceiling.

" Attention everyone! You've just been picked to oh so generously donate to the Faunus rights group known as the White Fang! Please, take off any lien and valuables that you have and put them in the bag that my associate is passing around."

One of the men would growl as he yelled insults at the White Fang members, the woman who currently had the bag of growing loot walking towards him slowly.

"I'm not gonna give anything to a bunch of LOWLIFE, NO GOOD, FURRY FU-" The man would then be silenced, him now holding his throat as it bled, his body soon growing still as it laid there on the dance floor. A few of the members of the crowd would shriek in terror as they backed away from the now growing pool of blood. But even though the sight of the once living mans blood now spilling onto the floor made Bari slightly nauseous, he would narrow his eyes at the woman, him recognizing a familiar pair of fox ears sticking out from the top of her head.

" Oh well." The woman would chuckle as she continued to collect money and anything worth of value from the frightened club members. But when she got up to Bari, she would smirk, her confidence having grown these past months as she tapped his shoulder. "Your shit in the bag too Mr. DJ."

Said DJ would look at her with hate filled eyes, the lights starting to brighten, yet as they did so, she would get a clear view of who he was, which made her confident smirk drop into a frown.

" OH FU-" She would never be able to finish her sentence as her body was flung into the opposite wall, the other White Fang members now directing their attention towards the DJ.

Bari would be standing there on the stage, his hand having slid into an arm shaped slot in one of the halves of his instrument, said half having formed around his arm, a long yet slightly curved blade now connected to his body, its cyan brilliance slightly shining in the now bright club.

" I thought I was doing something good with you faunus, but apparently not." he would sigh as the top of his once whole instrument would be hidden by a panel, his other arm going into the other half of his transforming gear, two barrels now sticking out of one end of the other half of his weapon. "Now then, shall we begin this fight that you started?"

The leader of the small group would growl in frustration of how one of his members had just been taken out by some random DJ. He would signal for his group to advance onto the man on the stage, yet a few of them seemed hesitant, as if they knew who their new target was. When they showed their hesitation to their leader, he would growl and brandish his own weapon, to which they would tense up before running towards Bari, their fear of being hacked into pieces stronger than the fear of the flame haired DJ might be who they thought he was.

"So that's how it's going to be." His narrowed eyes would look at each of the White Fang soldiers with hate and rage, his weapons at the ready for their attacks. "Fine then. If you aren't going to leave voluntarily, I'll make you leave." At that, one of the soldiers would try and throw a punch at him, their bodies movements fluid like in how they were trained, but the soldiers face would soon turn to shock and then horror as Bari not only grabbed the faunus's fist, but then used the blunt of his left blade to hit the soldier square their face, his right arm cocking his gun and firing it into the soldiers gut.

The blast from the round would send the faunus a few feet away as he clenched his stomach in pain, his now bleeding body curling up as the other members of the small group would close in and attack him with a flurry of punches, stabs, and even a few gunshots. Yet one by one, each one would be thrown off the stage, their bodies in a different state of pain. Now only one was left, him slightly panting as he held a small spherical object within his hand. The DJ was now standing in front of the final White Fang member, and within a moments notice, he would dash towards the soldier, but his world then became a blanket of gray smoke, which would cause him to cough. He tried to look around as he heard gunshots all around him along with screaming and running.

Once the smoke cleared, his angry scowl was replaced with a shocked expression, multiples bodies and their blood staining the dance floor. The DJ that was once being cheered on by his fans in this club was now on his knees, him simply staring at the bodies. Only one thought ran through his mind as his weapons fell off of his arms.

This is all my fault.

Ozpin would be scratching his chin in thought now, his empty mug sitting on a nearby table. "So, you're telling me that you single handedly trained a small group of individuals with no prior knowledge or education in fighting whatsoever into an organized combatant force capable of being among the White Fangs ranks?" at that, Bari would sigh as he looked at Ozpin.

"You don't have to rub it in ya know." He groaned a bit as he sat up straight, his back now having a few aches and pains in it.

"I'm not rubbing it in, what I'm saying is that your skills could be used in a more constructive way than just having them and you rot in a cell."

"Um…..what are you getting at?" Bari looked at Ozpin with a questioning brow, his eyes slightly curious of what he was about to hear, to which Ozpin would smile.

"Something very simple really. Join me at Beacon."
