Lost Love

Just a little angsty drabble. My brain kinda threw it at me and I had to write it. It's only like 400 words.

Lost Love

He stood looking down at the grave marker, tears began slipping down his cheeks as he knew they would, they always did when he came here. He knelt down and reached out to touch the cold marble that held the name of the man he loved. The man he had always loved but who he had only managed to tell in his dreams.

"Why was it you?" he asked the silent stone. "Why couldn't it have been me? It was supposed to be me!" He lowered his head in defeat; he knew no answer would come. It never did, every time he asked the question silence was his only answer.

"You were such a warm person, people didn't believe that but it was true. You filled the world with love; you filled my heart with love. Why didn't I ever tell you how I felt?" Sobs began to wrack his body as his pain overflowed, how would he ever be whole again without him?

"I've given up blading; it's not the same without you. I'm a world champion blader but I've been loosing to amateurs since you…" he couldn't say it. Even now he couldn't admit that he was gone. Softly, his fingers traced the golden inlaid name, following the lines carved into the marble. He looked at the picture and his heart seemed to break again. He hadn't thought it could break anymore than it already had, he'd been wrong.

Clutching at his chest, praying that God was finally taking him to be with his lost love, he screamed. The noise rent the air of the silent cemetery causing people to stop and look for where the noise had begun. He heard footsteps running towards him but he didn't care. He felt an arm drop protectively over his shoulders, offering him what little comfort it could.

"It's time to go" Rei told him, "He wouldn't want this."

"I can't leave him Rei" he pulled away and threw himself at the ground, digging his fingers into the dirt. He couldn't leave him alone, he hated being alone.

"It's time to go" repeated Rei at his side.

"I'm sorry" he said to the sky as he allowed Rei to lift him from the floor. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I love you…Tyson."

"Come on Kai" Rei walked beside Kai, guiding him from the grave yard and away from his pain.
