This story is one of my oldies.. Bare with me, people...

Kagome put her stuff in their place again. Koga had searched through her papers. Again. She sighed as she exited her office and walked towards the frustrated wolf demon. He was her boss, her friend and her ex fiancè. He was a wolf demon and she was a very powerful priestess but that never stopped her from trying to make their relationship work.
Kagome opened a door that led to the conference room. He loved to sit here whenever he wanted to clear his head and think. Koga was sitting at the head of the conference table, where he usually sat. His head was between his hands. Kagome slowly approached him and sat on the chair right of him. She put a comforting hand on his shoulder. If he wanted to talk, he would.
"I can't believe it. Karan cheated on me. I found her an hour ago with Aaron. I was such a fool. Go ahead and tell me your famous 'i told you so' speech." He spoke with his head still bowed.
"I am so sorry. I wish I wasn't right. I dont want you to feel terrible." Kagome genuinely felt bad. Her friend did not deserve to feel heartbroken. He was a good person and deserved to be happy.
"What did you do?" she asked. She hated how much it hurt Koga but she had to know what he had done.
"I fired them. I can't work with them after what they did." Koga replied as if it was obvious. He slowly looked up at her.
Kagome knew what he was going to say when she asked her question. She just needed confirmation.
"Koga, I have told you a million times not to date people from the office. They tend to cheat or break up with you and you fire them from work. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find good people who do their work. If I could, I would fire you!" Kagome sighed as Koga just blinked up at her. She had said the same line too many times.

"You need a break, Koga. I'll handle everything here. You go to Hawaii or some place with lots of girls and beach, and till you come I'll manage the office. I know all the current affairs. Just go and have fun. You need a break from Japan. When was the last time you left Japan? And not for a business trip! Go visit your clan, if you want. They have been without you for about a hundred years. Ayame must miss you."
Koga blushed slightly. "She must have forgotten me by now. She may be mated already."
Kagome smiled. Whenever Koga talked uselessly, and he did it a lot, he would always talk about his clan and Ayame. Always Ayame. It did not take her much longer, after their engagement, to realise that he still loved Ayame. She was too much of a thickhead to realise before.
"I think she hasn't forgotten you the way you haven't forgotten her. She might love you too. All you have to do is ask."
"What if she doesn't love me?" Kagome got up from her chair and walked silently to the door.
"Koga, would you rather sit here not knowing? The more time you waste here, the more chance there is for her to mate. I would rather know if I am rejected or not than sit here contemplating on that." After saying what Kagome wanted to say, she left. She had tried very hard to make Koga go back home, to his clan, and to Ayame. She knew a girl's heart and Koga was a good guy. Ayame would never forget him.
Kagome smiled. This time she had won. There was no doubt he would go home.
