Title: An Infinity

Disclaimer: I do not own anything.

First line is a direct quote from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows from page 528.

Synopsis: Lily. His definition to infinity.

"Look...at...me..." he whispered.

As the last of his memories trickled to a stop, he stares into Harry's eyes and sees his beginning and end.

Lily stares back out of her son's eyes. Lily. The beginning of their bittersweet childhood friendship that began all those years ago. Innocent laughter and mischievous glances. The end of an era. Hate strewn words and anger twisted lies from sneering lips.

The beginning of sunrise and the ending of sunset.

His beginning onto the road of darkness and his beginning onto the path of light. His end to the night and his end to the day. His beginning and end to all.

.

Lily. His definition to infinity.

.

Actions that begin the cycle to death. Her death. His death. Death of a million. A flap of a butterfly's wings creates a tsunami halfway across the world. And yet, the beginning of this end creates life to a start.

A start to a redemption? A start to a life? A start to more? He does not know. He only knows Lily. All for her.

.

All those regrets. All those broken promises and shattered words crumbling into the dust and swept into the wind and time. His vision blurs an instant from Harry-Lily's green, green eyes and then he sees.

He breathes out, "Lily."

And hears, "Severus."

And it begins.

Lily. The beginning of Severus' life and death. Their shared childhood. The words, "Mudblood." The prophecy. His role as Death Eater and his role as spy. All because of her. Truly, she is his definition to life and his reason to death. The beginning to the Dark Arts and the transition back to the Light.

In life, he loses her and in death, he finds her once more. And so, it begins for him again.

Life. Death. Friendship. A cycle and an infinity.

I hope that if you were confused, my ending explanation helped guide you through my words. Severus has always been my favourite. I was very sad that he was always so misunderstood.
