"When I look at you,
I'm home."

Abby felt a knot form in her belly the moment she walked in on Marcus and her daughter near-end discussion. She couldn't quite place her finger on what the cause of tinge was but quickly pushed it aside, figuring she'll find out sooner or later. It was likely relevant to Clarke and her close connection to Lexa and the Grounders at the moment.

"What is that?" Marcus questioned, referring to the clear plastic with an ink note scribbled onto the surface that she held in her hand forgotten.

"A note. Thelonious is gone," she paused briefly as Marcus scanned over the writing. "He told Sinclair to wait two days before giving that to us."

Silence fell between them once more. Abby faintly heard him say 'The City of Light,' but she overlapped him that same moment with a concerned, "Where are you going and why does my daughter prefer you to go rather than me?"

Marcus sighed, rolled up the letter and shoved it into an inside pocket of his jacket. "Clarke wants me to go to TonDc in her place," Marcus spoke.

Then the feeling in her stomach radiated more. No, the knot formed within her belly wasn't about Clarke, it was about Marcus. Abby still couldn't quite place why she felt that way especially towards Marcus Kane, the man who almost floated her and shocklashed her not too long ago. But he did also save her life and nearly stayed behind if Jaha hadn't beaten him.

Suddenly a warmth crept up on her cheeks and Marcus noticed, not understanding the cause.

"Abby, are you alri—"

"Don't go."

"Excuse me?"

"Don't go to TonDc, Marcus," Abby extended slowly.

"You know very well that I have to go," Marcus responded, furrowing his brows when he noticed the worry in her brown pools. "Abby, what's wrong?"

"I just— don't go. Please," she begged.

"Give me a reason not to," He took a few slow steps closer after each word until there was barely enough space to breathe.

"Marcus," Abby's brain went hazy. Her heart beat accelerated and her cheeks grew more crimson.

Marcus repeated his previous question but Abby was too focused on his lips to process his words. She only looked up to meet his eyes when he whispered her name ever so softly.

BADUMP.

"Damn you, Marcus Kane," Abby responded before pulling him by the collar and crashing her lips on his. Just as she was about to pull away, Marcus brought her closer and deepened the kiss. Abby's arms slipped through between them and wrung around his neck, a hand running through his long hair.

A few moments later they pulled apart, mutually. "Is that enough reason for you, Marcus?" Her hand was still running through his dark mane and it drove him crazy. He gave her a peck on the lips.

"Yes, but I still have to go and negotiate with Lexa," he replied, tightening his hold on her waist when the worry in her brown pools were brought back to his attention. "A peck for your thoughts?" Marcus kissed her again, briefly. He won't ever get used to doing that.

"It's just," she sighed, "when I look at you, I'm home." There was more, Marcus could sense it. He leaned in and gave her another kiss, making her smile. He won't get used to that either. Abby continued, "I have this feeling that something is going to happen if you go to TonDc."

"Then go with me." Silence. "You're the Chancellor, after all."

"And a Doctor," Abby added quietly.

"How did I ever get so lucky?" She grinned, the blush growing warmer. "Nothing will go wrong, Abby. Everything's going to fine."

He thought wrong.
