Confessions
Reno sat on his bed in his small apartment, his knees were drawn to his chest and his arms were wrapped around them. The apartment was pitch black; he hadn't even bothered to turn on a light. Rude opened the door and stepped inside, a quirked a brow at the total darkness that greeted him.
"Reno?"
Hearing no response, he made his way to the light-switch on the wall and flipped it on.
"Turn it off please, my head hurts..."
Rude turned his gaze towards the red-head as he once again plunged the small room into darkness.
"Been drinking again, Reno?"
His question was met with silence, then a shuddery sniffle. Rude found his way to Reno in the darkness that once again inhabited the apartment. Taking a seat on the corner of the bed, near his partner. He knew Reno hadn't so much as picked up a bottle in months, he also couldn't smell it on him either. Rude sighed heavily shaking his head as he removed his sunglasses; he placed them on the nightstand beside the bed.
"Sorry, Red. I shouldn't accuse you of such things…"
Red had been a nickname that he had given Reno a long time ago. Along with his personal favorite "Boo". Rude wasn't sure why he started calling Reno these things, he just knew that he was the only one that could and not end up dead, maimed or crippled.
With Reno and Rude the two nicknames were a sign of adoration and the bond that they shared together. Rude reached over, placing his hand softly on Reno's knee, still nothing only silence.
"Reno, talk to me…"
Rude then felt Reno's hand cover his own; a slight sniffle was heard as Reno spoke quietly.
"You wouldn't understand, Aibou."
Rude heaved a heavy sigh, he hated when Reno got like this. Talking to him in this state was almost impossible. Reno shifted slightly, moving closer to Rude, he moved his gaze towards him. Rude moved his hand from Reno's knee to let it rest on the red-head's cheek.
"What makes you think I wouldn't understand, Boo?"
Reno's face flushed slightly at the sudden touch, a slight shudder flowed through his body. Rude's touch always gave him chills, he had just told Rude that he wouldn't understand but he really didn't believe that. In reality it was he that didn't understand, he was confused about these things he was feeling about his partner.
"I..don't know Rude, maybe it's me. And not you at all."
Rude tilted his head, he was really feeling confused now. Reno was making no sense to him, or was he? He felt completely confused and wasn't sure what Reno was trying to tell him.
"Reno, what are you trying to say?".
Reno cleared his throat, he wasn't sure if he should tell Rude or not. He was also afraid of what might happen; he didn't want to lose the best thing that had ever happened to him. Reno decided to go for it, he moved closer to Rude. He lifted his head to meet Rude's gaze, he chewed his lip nervously.
"Rude..I…I'm in love with you.".
Rude's eyes got huge, for a brief moment he had ceased to breathe. He coughed slightly as those words flowed from Reno's lips. All kinds of thoughts running around in his mind. Finally after a few moments he pulled himself together.
"I love you too Reno…"
The red-head smiled from ear to ear, all the stress and fear of losing Rude had completely vanished from his body. Reno threw himself into Rude's arms, nuzzling against his chest and letting out a deep shaky sigh. Rude felt all the stress drain from his body as well, he had loved Reno for awhile now but until now was afraid to say anything; he had no doubt that his fears were the same as Reno's.
"Rude.I was so afraid to say anything, I thought you'd leave or reject me."
Rude gave a slight chuckle as Reno voiced both of their fears and concerns; he hugged the red-head close to him.
"I'd never reject you Boo. Not ever."
Reno sighed deeply and happily as he silenced Rude with a deep, passion filled kiss.
