For the Nameless Challenge. Everyone figured out it was Draco, but no one seemed to recognize Luna. —Rita

He was an arrogant prick. Smug and for all intense and purposes, a mean S.O.B. who enjoyed torturing younger students. He held court with his entourage of thugs and strutted around Hogwarts as if he owned it, reminding everyone that his father was close to the Minister of Magic and welded considerable influence on the goings-on. But inside he was terrified of everything. His worst fear was that someone would crack his façade and would see him for what he really was. He never let his guard down. No one got to see the him inside.

His girlfriend was pretty and devoted to him but he was so bored with her that he often said cruel things just to make her cry. He was hoping it would discourage her, but she always came back for more. He wondered whether it was because of his name or that she really was that much of a masochist. He hated her. He hated himself more.

There was only one person who saw him for who he really was. He started off torturing her, but she responded differently; she forgave him. She held him when his insecurities came out and he was frightened. She made the pain of his existence disappear when they were together. She understood. Her gentleness and peaceful heart welcomed the frightened boy and she loved him as he loved her.

They found time to be together in the Forbidden Forest. He was frightened of the place and she loved its magical presence. They spent hours together both needing the other in ways that neither of them could explain. No one ever knew because she allowed him his façade when he was the arrogant bastard who tortured younger students. No one would have ever guessed.
