Radiant Garden-
Normal POV
She sat on the roof of a tall building in Radiant Garden, with her arms resting in her lap. The sun was setting, shades of pink, blue, orange, and violet painted upon the sky. She just watched all of this, gray eyes mixed with a shade of purple stared at the ceiling of the world. She was wearing her usual attire, of the vest and navy top with white flowers on it, knee-high boots, and shorts zipped up but not buttoned.
However, she wasn't alone.
There was one more person next to her, who she rested her head on his chest, and he was comfortable with her sitting on his lap. She wasn't very heavy, but rather light, and he didn't mind her sitting on him at all.
They'd been like this for quite a while, just watching the sun set.
She wouldn't be the first to admit she was very lonely, and he wouldn't admit his hurt at Kairi choosing Riku over him. But he'd come seeking companionship, not having the void filled in his heart by his friends Donald and Goofy, but rather her, because even if it hurt, she was always honest.
Plain and simple, Kairi didn't love him like that, she told him. But there was someone who did, and if he wanted to know he should first spend time with that person.
He didn't understand, being the slightly-dense type, but he clearly understood her gesture.
She had given him a hug and murmured into his shirt, "Stay with me?"
He nodded, and didn't protest when she promptly settled herself in his lap. They did this a lot, just watching the sun set together. It was a rare moment of peace that he got whenever he stopped by to visit Radiant Garden, before he had to leave again to check on the other worlds and say hi to other friends.
One day, he promised that he would take her with, and she smiled. "I'll hold you to that," she told him. He'd just grinned and made himself promise not to forget.
He sighed, it was getting late and he had to leave the next day. A bit of sadness bit at his heart and Yuffie sighed herself, not something she did often.
She twisted around to face him, and placed both hands on his cheeks. He looked at her with confusion and a blush started to form on his face. She shook her head. "You don't have to be sad, you know. And besides, you look so much cuter when you have a smile on your face."
He blinked- she smiled- and then he understood.
"I get it now Yuff, I get it." He smiled mischievously and grabbed her hand, and then they were off into the night with the two friends (or more than friends?) laughing all the way to Merlin's house.
What the feeling he had now, was a sense of togetherness, the void in his heart starting to mend; and he realized that even with heart break, if you have your best friend around, together, you're okay. Especially if they happen to have a crush on you.
