as we shared our first kiss.
His soft lips and supple skin,
that is what I remember.
I don't want to remember
what I see now.
I take off my cape
and put it over my lover's body.
I stand and walk away
to go tell someone
what happened.
Images flash in my mind
his ice blue eyes,
his occasional smile,
his deep yet soft voice,
his love for me.
I'll never forget those things.
In that instant I smiled
and remembered all that I did
with my love.
