I turned to Katniss and tried to smile reassuringly at her. She didn't smile back. I frowned.

"Hey," I said, tilting her chin up so she looked at me. "It'll be okay."

"I miss her so much," Katniss whispered.

"I know, Sweetheart," I said, pulling her into a hug. "I know."

I felt something wet land on my shoulder but didn't have to look to know it was tears. I hugged her long and hard as she cried onto my shoulder. After a few minutes she finally calmed down and breathed in and out. She slowly pulled away from me and wiped her eyes.

"It'll be okay," I said. "We still have each other."

"I know," she said, smiling slightly though tears were still in her eyes. "And I'm happy we do. I just... I miss Prim so much."

"I understand," I said. "I miss my family too. And it's okay that we miss them; but we have to be strong for them, too."

Katniss nodded and smiled slightly again, then reached out for a hug. We hugged each other and then kissed. She smiled at me. Actually, really truly smiled. It was as if she was radiating.

"Thank you," she said, her smile still there. "I don't know what I'd do without you, Peeta."

"I don't know what I'd do without you either," I said, and hugged Katniss again. We would be alright. As long as we had each other, we'd always be alright.
