Let the Earth Shake Your Hand For Once Before You Die
Strolling through the meadows with a watch in your heart
Nothing gets by your soul except those who find a weakness
Getting into heaven takes more then just a hello and goodbye
What is it that we all strive for?
To be accepted and taken for not just a breathing creature
Instead as creatures of the night who live off of the earth's gifts
Why do we find pleasure in the hardest of places?
Sometimes it takes more then two heads to come together
And as the earth continues to nudge closer to you
You fend away in fear that you'll be confused and distressed
Why can't the earth take a break from the destructions of mankind?
Let it shake your hand
Oh sure we take care of it, some treat it like a child
While others break it apart
Though soon the light of day will no longer stretch its arms out
To aid those who are blinded by the realms of darkness
No we don't want this to happen
But all good things come to an end
The question being how much longer do we have?
In the future when we least expect it
Take a walk in the park and look around
Do you hear it calling your name?
Maybe not right away
Take a deep breath and be ready for a hug the size of the universe
Running won't do you any good
And a feeling of dread will disperse from your body
Giving you the confidence to rethink
We are here for one purpose alone, to make the fullest of our time
He is watching, everything you do
Say hello when you get a change
He'll only be there so much longer
Take care and shake the hand of a grand creator
