Summary The Doctor and Rose land in Melbourne, Australia on a usual supply stop and the Doctor makes a discovery of confectionary proportions in a small corner shop. This is just a bit of fun, almost bordering on a crack!fic. One word prompt from my friend. The word was "banana". This was pretty fun 'cause, let's be honest, I could have done anything with that, thanks to the Doctor's strange love of bananas. But I wanted to keep this one relatively short so it's actually based on a real experience of mine.
Characters Rose and 10, but I suppose it can be 9 if you really want it too.

Once again they had stopped off at Earth, and once again it seemed, to Rose at least, that they were destined to be drawn back here at least once a week. Rose sighed and she thought, once again they were there for milk.
This time they had landed in Australia, in the height of summer, which was really something. Standing the in middle of the city it seemed to be a steel desert as the temperature caused the landscape to wave and blur in the intense heat. Rose had always wanted to visit Australia, but she wasn't too keen on this particular day, maybe they could come back on a cooler day, or at least go swimming if it was this hot. But today the Doctor and Rose were only here for supplies (why the TARDIS kitchen seemed to automatically stock up on everything except milk she would never know, she wasn't even sure the Doctor knew why).
Currently they were in a small corner shop called Seven Eleven.
With four cartons of milk between them, the Doctor and Rose headed to the counter of the cramped little shop.
"That's $7.20." Said the shopkeeper with a faded Indian accent.
"Erm…" said the Doctor patting his pockets "there you go!" He exclaimed after a few seconds of rummaging in his suit pockets, rather pleased with himself when he found a blue Australian $10 note. "I knew I remembered to bring the right money this time!" He grinned at Rose.
Collecting their change and the milk cartons off the counter the two began to turn to leave when they were stopped by the shopkeeper.
"Oh and you get a free Chupa-Chup." He told them absentmindedly.
"Wha-?" Asked Rose, as the Doctor just crumpled his eyebrows in confusion.
"You get a free lollypop with each purchase." He said again, pointing to a tin of lollies to the left of the register.
"Oh, er, thanks." Said Rose, deciding to pass on the offer and turning to leave, but as she stepped forward to the door, the Doctor remained behind.
"Doctor?"
"Look Rose!" The Doctor turned back to grin at her, but Rose had no idea where she was supposed to be looking.
"What? Where?" What was he talking about?
"The lollypops, Rose - look." He said again, angling his head towards the tin full of lollies on sticks.
"Yeah, what about them?" He's lost it! She thought, sighing in her mind, he's finally just gone completely bonkers!
"The flavour Rose! Can't you see it? They're banana flavoured lollypops!" He cried excitedly at her, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
"Banana! Rose, imagine that banana flavoured lollypops – genius!" He continued in gleeful, if slightly childish, amazement.
"Yeah," She drawled nodding, hiding a smirk "but I don't have to imagine. They're right there." She said indicating to the tin as he had.
"So you gonna grab a couple or just stare at them then leave?" She teased and he looked taken aback, as if unaware of his gawking.
"Oh, yes, right." He said, springing to action and grabbing two banana flavoured sweets, stuffing them into his pocket.
"Thanks!" He called back to the shopkeeper as they stepped out of the store.
Behind them, the shopkeeper stared after them, shaking his head. "Weird people."
