A/N: I don't own Gossip Girl, sadly.

She was finally at Yale. Blair Waldorf, Queen B of the Upper East High, was at her dream school. The huge campus seemed to smile at her and she couldn't help but to smile back. Here it was, the fresh start she had waited for. There was no one that she knew there. No Nate, no Serena, no anybody. Blair adjusted her red headband and walked inside the gates, ready to start as a Yalie...

Blair woke up to the sound of Secret by The Pierces. It was 7:30AM and the dream had been just that – a dream. She threw off the covers and walked downstairs. The Waldorf maid came, her hands shaking, as the noise of Blair's breakfast rattling seemed to echo in the whole house. Blair sighed and snatched the tray out of the fearing woman's hands. She gulped down the orange juice and left the French toast untouched.

When she finally got to school, she took a deep breath and walked through the doors. She kept her head down, but could still feel the stares of the girls and whispering of the gossipers. She turned the corner and bumped into a very familiar looking blonde.

"Oh," Blair heard her whisper. "I-I'm sorry... oh, Blair, how've you been?" Serena looked at her with a sympathetic look.

"I don't need your sympathy," Blair softly spoke. She shoved past the gorgeous female and kept her head down, walking through the door to her first class.

Serena shook her head and walked out of the school. She had only come for Blair and now that the confrontation had ended, she had no need to be in the school. She walked over to a bench and took out a cigarette, lighting it with her hot pink Bic lighter. On the first puff, she saw a familiar, very very hot blond boy walk over to her.

"Hey Natey!" Serena yelled, finally glad for the first time in the day. She got up and gave him a very friendly hug. Nate breathed in the scent of the Vera Wang's Princess perfume she was wearing and the smell of her Garnier Fructis shampoo.

"Hey," he managed to say. There was so much on his mind since the incident with Blair had happened. "What're you doing out here?"

"Ah, I got bored in there. Anyway, I don't feel like going in there... Blair's being so weird, ya know?" Serena said with an easy tone about her. She didn't know the effect on Nate, but that wasn't what Serena did. Serena blurted things out and didn't care what trouble it got her into.

"Yeah I bet... I mean what happened was just so... life-changing, ya know?" Nate said, obviously ready to get stoned any second. Serena put the cigarette out and threw it on the concrete.

"Have you even talked to her? Tried to be a good boyfriend? At all?" She burst out. It wasn't normal for her to get emotional, but Blair wasn't Blair anymore.

"She cheated... and she got AIDs. What am I supposed to do? Say it's okay, because she's probably going to die in a few months? God, you think I'm okay with this? I've been awake every single night since she told me. You know what, screw this, I'm going home, I'll see you around," and Nate got up, walking into the distance, throwing his cigarette to the street. Serena looked after him and shook her head. She got up and went the other way, to the hotel her family lived in. Nate can be such an ass. Whatever, I'll be there for Blair. Nate can go to hell and leave Blair alone in the process, she thought to herself.
