Hi all, this is my second story start in as many days that I probably shouldn't be doing as I have other stories I need to finish, but oh well. As far as writing and then posting goes I am new to Mortal Instruments and Infernal devices, so, again, hello :o) Hope you all enjoy.
Prologue-
Simon Lewis was sure he had forgotten something. Something big, something huge, and that it was catastrophically important. But, for the life of him, he could not remember what it was. He was sure that it had something to do with his dreams of the girl with the dark, dark eyes, the girl he was sure had meant a great deal to him once, even though he didn't know her name.
Simon also thought that, perhaps, the thing he'd forgotten had something to do with the girl who'd called him to talk about being friends in kindergarten. He was sure that he didn't know this girl, yet something in the back of his mind told him that he ought to. He thought that she might have some connection to the dark eyed girl, but he didn't know, and that frustrated him to no end.
One day though, that changed. It started with a knock on his door. His Mom and sister were out clothes shopping (ugh), so he was home alone when the knock came. Simon opened the door, then passed out as soon as he saw who was on the other side. He wasn't unconscious for long, but enough for memories long buried came rushing back to him. He was now fairly sure who the girl who'd called him was, but he still didn't know who the girl with the dark eyes was. More immediately important though, was the young man who'd knocked, and why rhe'd forgotten who everything about him until now. Simon opened his eyes.
He was lying on his couch, with the young man standing over him. "How?" he asked. "What, what's going on?"
"Do you know who I am, Simon?" he asked.
Simon nodded. "Do you remember my sister?"
"Kind of," he said. Now among the younger memories of that girl, he was having flashes of other things, just snippets. A man with cat eyes and covered with glitter. A highly annoying boy that seemed to be made out of gold. Fighting. Strange monsters. Long, long black hair to accompany the dark, dark eyes. This person had triggered memories that were starting to drag forward memories of his time with the-
"Shadowhunters." he blurted without thinking. "I know something called Shadowhunters."
The young man who he knew he'd been good friends with once smiled. "Come with me Simon," he said, "We've got a lot of work to do, to get your memories back.
"And so we'll stay as long as we're needed?" the blue eyed black haired boy asked the Angel. "We won't die, or grow old?"
"You can be killed," the Angel told him. "But, with the exception of the child, yes. You will be in the mortal world for as long as you are needed.
"But why?" the boy's sister asked. "Not that I'm not grateful, I am, but-"
"The shadowhunters of this generation need to know their history. Sebastian Morgenstern and his father were a danger. That they have been eradicated calls for some sort of reward and this is what we have chosen."
Then to the blue-eyed boy. "Give this to your brother. He will be alive as long as you are."
The boy nodded and accepted the vial.
"Now," the angel said, "It is time for you to go."
There was a flash of light and the nine people disappeared from the afterlife and into the mortal world.
Yes, I know it's rather short, but it's the prologue. They're usually not that long. Anyway, hopefully the next chapter will be coming in soon, and please Review! I love reviews, can't get enough of them!
