Prologue.
A cat runs through the forest, chasing a mouse. He stops in a clearing, and has a feeling he's not alone. A cat with a black pelt, and green eyes, walks out from the shadows of the forest. The cat has an ominous aura around them, as if they're from a place that's neither StarClan or the Dark Forest. When the cat speaks, its voice sounds as if a hundred or more cats are speaking at once.
"The sky will descend, and cast light upon all, but the light can be crushed, and the land will flood with blood, unless the light is reclaimed by the dusk or the day." The cat then disappears, leaving a very confused medicine cat. The medicine cat wakes to the cries of a queen giving birth.
After a very long time, the queen had given birth too 2 kits, one was black as night, with cold, and with unusually long claws and teeth, while the other was as light as the sun, with warm amber eyes, and very bushy fur. The kits were named Nightkit and Daykit. Nightkit was named by the mother, Dawntail, and Daykit named by the father, Duskclaw.
"So that means Nightkit is evil...?" The leader, Foxstar, says after being told about the prophecy. After thinking for a while, Foxstar decides to not tell the clan, as it could lead to Nightkit being hated, and thus giving Nightkit a reason to hate the clans, and with it, a reason to destroy them too.
