Setting : Genki's Temple / Estate.

Blown Candles

Everything seemed in place today, Just a typicial jolly day at Genki's place for the most part. However, the teal

haired girl seemed off. Her eyes had a void to them today, and she wasn't as talkative, her smile even seemed icy, which was the opposite of what it was usually was. I frowned, staring at the back at her head, floating in mid-air. She usually noticed I was here, but she seemed frozen in thought. I was worried about Yukina-San.

I floated down, behind her, and poked her back. I laughed as she gasped softly and turned around quickly. She blinked several times, her red eyes met my blue ones. I coughed, breaking the silence, " Ye seem down, let's go to the beach! I think ye need some fun. "

She smiled -- then gasped as I suddenly grabbed her hand, flying out of the room, without even giving her time to answer. She giggled as she flew with me, out of the house and down the never ending set of stairs, " You know.. I always wanted to be free, and fly like the birds. " She stated it randomly, so I blinked, then grinned.

" Well, meh plan seems to be working -- so far. " I whispered, so she couldn't hear. I sat her down on the soft sands, and floated next to her.

She smiled to me, and I grinned back, then she cocked her head towards the sunset, " It's my birthday today.. you know. I wish my brother was here, to celebrate it with me... That's my only... " Her voice trailed off, and she sighed.

I put my finger up to my chin, and looked up, grinning, and she giggled. I pulled her along with me into the air, and sat her onto my lap, then attacked her stomach tickling her. We both laughed as she almost fell off.

" Happy birthday to 'ye! Cheer up now! "

She nodded and smiled the biggest smile, while blushing and looked at the sunset. " Thanks Jin, you're so joyful, it has a effect on me. Thanks for giving a birthday I'll always remember. " She leaned in and kissed me. " It means alot. " She pulled back blushing.

We sat there, enjoying the fading night. Even if the colors fade, our faces made up for the red shades, and like candles, I know I felt on fire.
