Severus Snape wasn't an ordinary man, Remus Lupin knew that. It had taken him years, just to get under the other's skin. Just to find out what is favourite colour was. (It was black.)

And most people, in the beginning, didn't get why Remus even bothered. Remus always shrugged, smiled sadly, and went to sit next to the greasy haired potions master.

And whoever it was, always wondered just how Remus could stand raven haired. And they wished that they had the patience that the werewolf had. And most of them sweared that if he ever hurt Remus...

But they didn't know what Remus knew. They didn't know just how nice and wonderful Severus Snape could be. Just how an amazing person he was when you got to know him.

That he was more than sneers, frowns, greasy hair and evil comments. That he was, in fact, not evil at all.

Remus still wasn't certain why he had decided to befriend the isolated Potions Master, but he was glad he did.

They both needed the company.

Everyone couldn't hide their shock, when Remus once had talked about Snape as his friend. It saddened Remus, somehow, that they thought so little of Severus Snape. That no one had bothered to get to know him, even before nor after Remus.

But what Remus found most sad was, that if that was their reaction now, how would they not react when they found out that Remus and Severus was, in fact, lovers.
