That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.

The inhabitants of the world stared out in terror as the beast, which for so long haunted their very existence, was captured on camera, and broadcast worldwide. All of humanity tuned in as the prehistoric monstrosity they once saw as a menace now stared down a being from their very nightmares.

Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, was face to face with what seemed to be a hideous hybrid of a dragon, a man, and a squid-like creature. Cultists from around the world flocked towards the battlefield in the heart of the Pacific, drawn to give their lives to bolster their dreaded master, the High Priest of the Great Old Ones, the being that gave their lives meaning. These desperate souls came to give their lives, their very essence, to empower Cthulhu.

Scientists and Kaiju experts also risked their lives to rush to the battlefield. With them, came their newest invention, a weapon capable of mutating any living organism to the pinnacle of its evolutionary abilities. The weapon, they decided, to use on Godzilla, for he was the only being powerful enough to stand up to the Old One who rose from its ancient temple in R'lyeh.

On Birth Island, another Kaiju stirred, sensing the dreaded power of Cthulhu. Long ago, this monster had guarded the location of the fallen city of R'lyeh, yet now it was disturbed, and the stars were aligned. Should she not act, the world would be plunged into madness as the Almighty Cthulhu awakened it's brethren in the Outer Spheres. With fearsome determination, despite advanced age, the Guardian of Nature and inhabitant of Birth Island began flapping before taking off, her multi-facited azure eyes taking in every detail of the surrounding area as her wings carried her towards the battle that would determine the fate of the entire universe.
