"Thanks chef!" Dillon called out as he stood in the huge Quartermaine kitchen. Chef had given him all the things he was going to need. Today was the day he was going and try to bake some muffins. Georgie loves muffins and he thought he could surprise her with them.
He had a recipe in his hands but to him they weren't much. He hadn't baked or cooked, ever. But that wouldn't stop his attempt to put a smile on his girlfriends face.
He started to read it and placed a bunch of ingredients into a bowl. He looked at the picture on the recipe and smiled just thinking about how good they would look in person, and how nice they would taste too.
He had had these muffins before. They were a Quartermaine breakfast staple. He knew they tasted good, and he knew they were made right where he stood but the idea he could make the same ones himself made him more excited then most people while baking muffins.
He mixed up a bunch of ingredients and thought the batter looked good. He had done his best job and this was bound to get him a kiss from Georgie although her happiness was enough.
He quickly poured it into the muffin tray and then placed it in the oven proud of himself. He stopped the oven just in time and the muffins looked picture perfect. Now he would have to taste one.
Dillon took a bite, expecting the warm flavor of cinnamon, but he could only taste the overwhelming taste of salt. He quickly spit it out into a napkin and grabbed some water. It had been a disgusting taste that he was happy had been removed from his mouth. His plan had failed, and he would have to simply grab the ones already made from the kitchen by the chef.
He asked for someone to box them nicely while he went and got his coat. They met him in the foyer and although she would still be getting great muffins it was unfortunate he wouldn't be the one making them for her.
He ran out the door with the beige box and walked down to Kelly's, where he found Georgie sitting outside, waving at him smiling.
"Hey! What's in the box?" She asked him curious as he sat down and placed the box on the outdoor table.
"For you." He simply said sliding it over in front of her. He smiled wide as she looked at him with the prettiest look on her face.
"Thank you." She said before she knew what was inside. She undid the flaps and saw the 6 muffins inside which made her eyes light up in joy.
Georgie picked one up and brought it up to her face before taking a big bite of it. The overloaded taste of salt had made it to her taste buds and it was clear to Dillon by her reaction they had packaged the wrong muffins.
Georgie's face was twisted and was desperate to get the taste out of her mouth. She looked around for a drink or something to get rid of it. She quickly just spit it out onto the ground and went for the first thing her eyes saw. Dillon's lips.
She grabbed his face and kissed him hard to try and get the taste of it out of her mouth. She loved kissing him anyway so it was nothing she didn't know how to do.
Dillon finally got what he wanted. He got a kiss even if the sodium levels were high. And it was after all because of the muffins he made.
