Hi. This is my first fanfic and I'm only 14 J so it's probably not that good. Anyway, enjoy!
No, I don't own Zelda or Bring Me The Horizon (although I wish I did own Oli Sykes).
Suicide Season In Hyrule
Part I: The Comedown In Hyrule
The rope tightened as the limp body dropped from the tree branch. A soft wind blew upon this man, but he could not feel the calm breeze, for he had removed all possible life from himself. His body dangled from the tree, swaying, as if in a surreal dream, and his face was forever fixed in a hideous pose. The dead man's shoe slipped off his foot, hitting the soft grass without a sound, and as if Mother Nature could sense death, all the flowers surrounding the shoe began to wilt. They would eventually die too. One man's madness would soon kill more than just that one man.
He was not even the only person to die by his or her own hands at that moment. All over the land, hundreds of people had fallen, a dirtied cord tied around their necks. Some had fallen from trees, balconies, stone columns, and all sorts of elevated locations. All had dies at the exact same moment. High noon. The few onlookers were stunned. Their confusion would only grow as the mystery would unfold.
This man who had dropped from that tree had every reason to take his own life. Penniless, homeless and abandoned, he had nothing, and had descended into a state of living death. Why should he have had to suffer, when he could end it all easily?
As one man leaves, another man enters…
Link walked towards the suspended corpse, surveying his surroundings. His eyes wandered up the tree, searching every nook and cranny. He paused for a moment at the branch, a filthy rope coiled around it, and then he stared at the man at length, trying to think of every possible scenario of his situation.
After several minutes Link brushed some dirt off his green tunic, turned from the body, and walked away, still perplexed by this mystery. He walked towards the sun, but eventually the sun gave way to the sight of Hyrule Market, and behind that the majestic Hyrule Castle. With his sharp eyes he could just about make out a guard pacing upon one of the castle walls and as he walked he watched this guard going about his duty with strange interest.
This time hours passed, and Link grey weary from his journey. Much of the way had been through grass fields, away from the safe stone path, and his feet began to ache. Still he was surveying the guard. If the guard had good eyesight and had noticed Link, he would surely have thought the man to be either crazy, or a stalker.
However, Link was suddenly interrupted, as, in the corner of his eye, he saw the gate to Hyrule Market. Suddenly distressed, Link swiftly drew out a blue ocarina from a pocket in his tunic, and he began to play a soft melody. He repeated this tune a few times and soon rapid footsteps could be heard approaching him. Eventually a grand horse appeared in front of Link, its brown fur glinting in the day's few last rays of sun. Link mounted the steed, and sped off towards the gate, entering just in time. The horse's steps echoed in the entrance and it came to a sudden stop in the street. Link jumped off the horse and whispered in it's ear, 'Good job, Epona.'
Link was first headed towards the inn, where he would stay the night. Tomorrow morning he had an audience with the princess, Zelda, an old friend. He should have been smiling, but with the current crisis, dared not. Most people were terrified these days, and many refused to leave their houses. And it's my job to solve this mystery though Link as he entered the inn, and left the world.
