Alex was so excited to be going to Hogwarts. After all, her older sister, Kelly, went there, and is still currently there. She will be going into her third year and will be visiting Hogsmade. Alex was excited for her sister and couldn t wait until she was going into her third year.
But, Alex decided that it was a little too early as to be thinking about her third year when she should be thinking about her house. There were four: Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw. Her sister was in Gryffindor and wishes her sister luck in entering the house.
But, Kelly always said to Alex that she has the traits of both Hufflepuff and of Gryffindor. She didn t know what the hat was going to pick for her. Neither did Alex when she got this news. But, as her train of thought kept on going down the path of the sorting, her parents were getting out of the car.
Alex, her mother s voice rang out, echoing off the walls of her mind, Alex! Her mother shouted.
Alex jolted awake and was dazed. Are we there? She asked in great confusion.
Yes, now we have to hurry if you want to get on the train with your sister. Her mother was already walking away from the car with her father before Alex was even out the door.
Her sister went over to her friend, Katherine s, house to board the train with her. Alex quickly grabbed her bag, seeing as her parents had her trolley and raced to catch up with them.
Her father looked down at her messy brown hair and laughed, Alex, what are we going to do with you? Alex looked up at her father and smiled, Keep me and love me forever? Now, both her parents laughed, Yes we will. Her mother said in her sweetest tone.
The rest of the walk to the platform was relevantly quiet, except for the fact that her tawny brown owl, Night, wouldn t stop making noises. Everybody that they were walking by was staring intently at the owl in the cage.
Once they got to the platform, all three of them went head first through it together. On the other side, they found Kelly was waiting for them, already dressed in her school uniform with a red and gold patch that signified that she was a proud Gryffindor.
Where have you guys been? Kelly asked. I had to let Jamie go on ahead of me because you guys took so long. Why didn t you go in with her? Mother asked Kelly.
I promised Alex that I would go on the train with her and get her to an empty compartment. Kelly paused. Now, come on Alex, there aren t many left. She said as she led Alex up to the train.
Their parents were yelling good byes at them as if this was the last time they would ever see each other again. But, Alex scurried along the train and finally came to a compartment that didn t have anyone in it. Alex sighed and went it in and settled down.
Kelly came by and opened the compartment. Now, Alex, be good. Jamie and I are not going to check up on you so behave. When don t I? Alex asked.
Funny. Kelly shut the door as she left.
Alex was going to have the best time of her life. She was going to school finally, and what is the most important, her sister wouldn t be away from her much. She would see her a lot. Alex thought as her mind drifted to the possibilities of what this school would hold for her.
