Disclaimer: don't own Jag don't own song
It was another night when I was going to meet Harm and some friends at McMurphy's. We had started this thing where every Friday night we would all go to McMurphy's where we would dance and talk and pretend for a night we weren't all JAG personal.
"You're late flyboy." I said as Harm walked in.
"Nice of you to notice marine," he said casually.
"So Harm, decided to grace us with your presence?" Sturgis said looking at his watch.
"Oh shut up Sturgis, I already had Mac commenting on my punctuality." Harm laughed.
We were sitting in a booth just talking and having fun like we normally do on Friday nights when Harm stood up. "Would you like to dance Mac?" Harm asked just as Sturgis was about to go into an embarrassing story about Harm from when they were at the Academy together .
"I don't know Harm, this sounds like it'll be good." I said.
"C'mon Mac," he said pulling at my arm. If any other man had done this their sixes would have been on the floor in two seconds tops, but because Harm was my best friend I let him pull me onto the dance floor.
"Great timing," I said as Celine Dion's slow song 'I'm Your Angel' started to play.
"I know," Harm gloated as we started to dance I was lost in thought when I started to here Harm's voice sing along to the music. "I'll be your cloud up in the sky, I'll be your shoulder when you cry, I'll here your voices when you call me, I'm your angel, And when all hope is gone I'm here, no matter how far you are I'm near, It makes no difference who you are, I am your angel , I'm your angel." His voice was low so only I could here. I knew what he was singing was true cause he had always been there for me. I felt a tear roll down my face and I looked into his sea blue eyes.
"Harm." I said. I knew what I wanted to tell him but I didn't know if I could. I started again, "Harm thank- you,"
"For what marine?" he asked.
"For always being there for me Harm even when I didn't think I needed you. You've always been there for me Harm."
"And I always will Mac. I love you so much." I looked at him not believing what he said. As much as I wanted to hear him say those words, I never thought he would. The tears were coming faster now. I was never the type of person to show how I felt so I was surprised again when I started to cry in the middle of McMurphy's.
Being the stupid person I am some times I ran out the door and just sat outside contemplating what just happened. I heard the door swing open behind me. Knowing who it was I stood up and wiped my eyes.
"Harm, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to run out on you like that. Its just that I. I love you to and I'm afraid of how much I love you Harm." I said.
He looked down at me and smiled. "I know the feeling." He then leaned down and kissed me. At that moment I felt like the luckiest person alive, I had Harmon Rabb Jr. in my arms and he loved me, an abused recovering alcoholic who was just as stubborn as he was.
