Hi, all, here's another fanfic, a Spirited away fanfic. A One-shot, yet again, Hope you like it. Chihiro/Haku
Until the Last Petal Falls
Under an endless sky, in a never ending field of pure green, there, the two winged beings, in white, gazed at the one real piece of life in the field they were in.
A beautiful rose stood, as if by magic, wilting. When the rose was first created, it stood tall and proud, and for a two years, it stayed as such. But as more time passed, it slowly started to wilt. The two angels that watched over it grew sad, as it did.
One turned to the other, "Why does it do this? Why does the rose wilt?" This was the angel that watched over Chihiro, her innocent and naive nature did not know of the vast knowledge that the other held.
The other turns to the young angel, with an ancient wisdom evident in his eyes, "Tell me, do you know why this rose was born"
The younger one shook her head. The elder explained it to her, "The one I guard over made a promise to your Chihiro. He promised to find her again, out of love. This rose was born to represent that promise…however…"
"However?" echoed the younger angel, an eager curiosity burning in her voice. "However…as time fades, both hope and will die…the hope of your Chihiro is slowly vanishing, as is the will to wait for him. My Kohaku is still determined to keep that promise, but this rose stays alive because they share the promise, he promised to find her, and she promised to wait, however she is slowly giving up on him. But because he is still determined, this rose is still alive, but grows weaker as time passes, as long as he keeps his promise to her, this rose will only live until she dies…unless she decides to keep believing in him, then, even after both are dead, this rose will stand tall and true, because the promise was kept."
"I see...but…what happens if the rose continues to wilt?" inquired the young angel. The elder angel's eyes reflected a sad shine, as the knowledge came into his mind. "If the rose continues to wilt…and the last petal falls, then it is evident…that the promise will officially die…and both Kohaku and Chihiro's memories of each other will, as well. They will not remember each other, because this promise was what kept the memories of each other, to this day. It's sad, really…"
"Yes, it is…" The Young angel gazed sadly, as, slowly, the rose began to turn crisp. But before the young angel could weep for dying love of her Chihiro, the rose slowly began to blossom. It started to grow taller, and the petals returned to the beautiful deep red they were in the beginning. Both look surprised at the sudden change. "What happened?" asked the younger angel.
The elder chuckled, all knowingly, at the reason, "My, it seems Kohaku kept his promise…" The younger angel looked at the elder, with a confused look evident on her face. But she smiled; because she could sense that her Chihiro was happy. Both of them smiled at the now tall and beautiful rose that stood before them. The rose that would continue to stand for the rest or eternity, because the promise of love had been kept.
Hoped you all enjoyed that. R/R please.
