Disclaimer: Do you honestly think I'm Stephenie Meyer? Look, I don't own Twilight and I'm pretty sure you all know that.

My name is Aileen Swan, I'm twenty years old and apparently I'm Bella Swan's step -sister. Phil and Renee are my parents, and my stepsister Bella died at my age by a car accident. Renee never stopped crying, and talked about Bella all the time, meaning I was always ignored. Phil was the only one that ever gave me the attention I needed, and Renee never forgave Charlie for what had happened.

I became a reporter, and lately I've been working on a case in Italy. People have been talking about creatures called 'vampires'; the sudden breakout made me curious and I got permission to do some fieldwork. I've been studying vampires for the past couple of weeks, and vampire mythology just didn't make sense to me.

They can't come out in the daytime? How stupid is that? But maybe that's how the vampires seemed to kept their identities sealed for so long. Maybe this is just a silly rumor, but somehow, vampires have always struck my interest and I just had to get involved.

I swear, I watched Dracula a million times before I got on my plane to Italy. I knew that part of me would be disappointed. After all, who believes that vampires exist? My boss thought I was crazy, that I'd only be wasting my time. But he gave me permission to do whatever the hell I wanted to do, not matter how crazy it may seem.

I closed my laptop, which contained every bit of information I was typing on vampires. I looked out the window, and beyond the clouds I could see land. The plane was landing. Let the adventure begin!

A/N: Yes, it was short. But I'm lazy, the next chapter shall be longer. Promise! Later my peeps.
