A/N: So yep I've already posted this once before but I was going through my stories and decided to fix mistakes and revamp this so here you go. A pretty little drabble full of mer/der fluff-ish type stuffing. I own nothing.
Derek Shepherd always knew he was going to do something worth while with the huge piece of land he owned; he just had no idea what. Now six years after buying said piece of land he watched his wife from their front door. The first time she had done it he seriously considered admitting her.
It was four years ago, right after their house was finished, a torrential downpour had engulfed Seattle as usual. Derek was sitting in the living room, the fireplace on across from him finishing up some paperwork. Meredith suddenly appeared at the bottom of the stairs clad in her pajamas pants and a tank top. Despite the weather it was actually amazingly warm out, a summer storm. Without speaking she opened the front door and stepped out. He figured she was going to the store, Memorial Day was the next day and Izzie had volunteered their house for the party. He didn't immediately realize she didn't have her purse or car keys with her, too distracted by mound of papers occupying their coffee table. He was soon engrossed back in his paperwork when a tap on the window behind him caused him to jump. Turning around slowly his eyes widened slightly at the sight his eyes met with. A soaking wet but smiling woman was standing outside their picture window. His mouth dropped open slightly as she smirked, pointed to him and then the front door before walking away. Getting up he threw open the front door standing there in complete and utter shock. Meredith, the-one-he-would-breathe-for-forever-if-need-be was standing in the middle of the lawn. She was staring at him literally glowing before she titled her head back, catching rain drops on the tip of her tongue. It was by far the most magnificent, intoxicating, addicting scene he had ever witnessed.
It was her time something he didn't interrupt or join. He simply watched from the front door, the smile she wore was etched in his mind, something he would never forget.
A/N: Ok so this was written because of the torrential downpour that engulfed Chicago so enjoy. Review
