"Mackenzie Browning is that you?" a voice in back of Mackenzie questioned.

"Ah....um..." Mackenzie said looking at JT Hellstrum, who she'd just been kissing. Nervously she pushed a strain of hair behind her ear and looked up to see Abigail Mandrake smiling down at her. "Oh my god when did you get back?"

"A few days ago....I've just been resting. So...." Abigail said as she looked to the guy Mackenzie had been kissing. Her jaw dropped when she realized it was JT. "Um, hey JT..."

"Hey yourself. Been a while, thought you were never going to get back from boring old Paris." JT smirked. He knew how to push Abigail's buttons just as well as he knew how to push Brittany Hodges' buttons.

"Yeah I'm sure you missed me." she said sarcastically and turned back to Mackenzie. "So I guess a lot of things have changed while I was gone. I could've sworn I was only gone for a year....but I guess that was enough time for everything to change."

"Um well yeah.....so how was your trip?" Mackenzie questioned noting the tension between JT and Hannah. She had never really gotten to know why Abigail had a loathing for JT – but then again she'd never thought she'd end up with JT either.

"It was great.....the school was amazing....." Abigail smiled. "Um so I guess I'll see you around. Phone me when you get a chance."

"I will..." Mackenzie said as she watched Abigail walk away.

"I never knew you guys were tight." JT said turning to Mackenzie. "Although it doesn't surprise me, you two are a lot a like."

"And you would know that how?" Mackenzie said wondering what exactly he'd meant by that remark.

"Well I did grow up with Abby....and I guess you could say we were friends..." JT replied.

"Really? Then when did the part of her not wanting to have anything to do with you come into play?"

"To tell you the truth I really don't know. But hey it's life. So....what do you wanna do tonight? I thought maybe we could go to a movie." JT said as his hand brushed the hair away from her face.

"I can't. I have a big chem test tomorrow that I have to study for." Mackenzie replied as she noticed Billy Abbot walk in the back door of Crimson Lights. Immediately her attention was drawn from JT to Billy and Brittany Hodges as she followed them with her eyes. She still couldn't shake that feeling that things were bad between them....no matter how hard she tried to stop thinking about Billy, she couldn't. She still had strong feelings for Billy, no matter how hard she tired to deny it – it was hard to see him with Brittany because Mackenzie knew that she was the reason she and Billy were no longer together. Stop it Mac, you're with JT – give it up, Billy made his choice and it wasn't you. She told herself as JT wove his hand in front of her face.

"Hello earth to Mac..." JT said following her gaze. Who it landed on was no surprise, and he was starting to get annoyed by it. He'd been ticked off by it at first and then things had seemed to be working out for them – but it was starting all over again, Mackenzie still had feelings for Billy and he knew that no matter how hard he tried, any feelings she would develop for him would never match those for Billy. Oh well....don't fret, Billy's still got Brittany.....Mac's gonna have to deal with that. He thought to himself as he stood up. "I guess since you have to study, I should get you home huh?"

"Yeah..." Mackenzie said as she focused on JT again and stood up pulling her jacket on. "I'm really sorry.....maybe we can do something tomorrow?"

"Hey when ever you want is fine with me. As long as I get to spend time with you." JT said wondering when he had become such a sap.

Mackenzie smiled up at him and walked towards the door as he trailed behind, all to aware of Billy Abbot's eyes following them.
