Sometimes events can alter your life in good ways or bad ways.
Or some events can be your worst nightmare.
To quote Zordon from Power Rangers "My worst fear has been realized."

Scared, very scared. This is how my friend Sabrina and I felt when we had been lost in Lodi.

I had been waiting for this competition for 2 weeks. the thought of riding to a Competition in the comfort of Sabrina's grandpa's Toyota would be very relaxing. Normally getting to a comp was riding in an overcrowded school bus.
When we got to Lodi the band had a major shock, someone had broken into our Band Trailer. Sabrina's French Horn wasn't stolen, and neither was Jiyrah, my Trumpet from God. Unfortunantly my music bag was stolen. It didn't have much value, it was only a gift from my mom for making the New Life Church Praise team. Also Mike's trumpet was stolen. Mike's a friend of mine, and I tried to comfort him right before warm-up. After getting dressed I met Sabrina's dad. He came to see the review and was going to take us to dinner after the awards ceromony. He took a photo of us in full uniform. Then we marched in the parade. Had we obeyed Mr. Stratton's orders, none of what would happen next would have happened. Sabrina explained to Mr. Stratton that her grandpa would pick us up. Stratton gave us permission to change off the bus. We did, & it was embarrassing, just a little. After changing back, Sabrina & I walked along the route back to where we had parked. we were both nervous, and Sabrina had a sense of paranoia. Unfortunantly she was right. Her grandpa's Toyota Corrola wasn't there. Normally I'm a calm person, but when we saw that the car wasn't there I lost my cool, Sabrina started crying. I was trying to control myself, to keep from screaming. *I'm the older one (I'm a Senior, Sabrina's a Sophomore)* I thought desperately *I must stay strong* Sabrina was crying & I just started screaming at her to be quiet. (even after 2 months I still feel guilty about that.) She was calming down when we started back to Lodi High. Who wouldn't be scared? we were two women under the age of 18 in a town where no one knew us, with no friends and no phone or phone numbers to call. For almost 2 hours we waited for someone to pick us up & take us to the Grape Bowl stadium. where the awards were being held. An hour after we got left behind a man from the Folsom bad walked by and thought we were some Lodi kids pulling his leg about being despite the fact Sabrina had her Las Plumas Oroville band shirt on. About 20min. later he drove bye this time he saw us out there still and stopped. He had asked us if we were really lost. We told him that we were. He offered us a ride to the stadium. We took up his offer being that there was two of us and he had is wife and a van full of band instruments. One of the band parents mentioned the song by Creedence Clearwater Revival "Stuck in Lodi again" I don't think we'll ever listen to the song in the same way. We arrived at the stadium in time to here a page over the loud speakers for us. After we were reunited with our family we watched the rest of the award ceremony then went out to dinner with Sabrina's dad. and all was peacefull.

May we never get "Stuck in Lodi again".
