A/N: Just a cute little ficcy I found lying in my unpublished stories folder... I don't think I'm going to add on, and you don't have to review, but just read if you're bored over the long holiday break. : ) I know I said I wasn't writing, and this is true, but I was just bored and looking through my folders, and found this. Enjoy!

"I hate this," Sirius whined for what had to be the thousandth time, and then slapped his paintbrush onto the wall. "Why can't we just use magic?"

"It isn't that bad, Sirius, we're just painting…" Lily dipped her brush into the paintcan and drew a long stroke onto the wall, "I've painted my room do-"

"-zens of times, yes we know, Lil'," James grabbed the brush from her and used it to apply a stroke of his own, "but we've never painted before, seeing as our parents aren't Muggles. It's just stupid, painting, and I don't see why we can't just - "

"If you hadn't thrown a handful of those water-reacting hornets into Snape's cauldren, Jamsie, we wouldn't be in this mess. Stop whining, Lily's right, just shut up and paint," Remus grabbed the brush from James and tossed it back to Lily.

"Have you been painting your room too, Remmie?" Sirius flicked his brush at Remus, sending a shower of paint spray onto Remus, "or are you just trying to steal James' girl?"

"Stop it," Lily chided, grabbing the brush from Sirius, "look at Peter's work. He's already got half a wall nearly done. Follow his lead, and start painting!"

"It's much quieter over here Lil', if you'd like to come join me," Peter turned toward Lily, brush in hand, "On the other hand, you could stay with those clowns and be painted rather than the wall, if you like."

"I'll take you up on your first offer," Lily grinned and strode over to where Peter was standing.

"He stole your girl, James! Get him!" Sirius crowed, waving his paintbrush though the air and sending droplets flying.

"Nah, he can have her," James grinned and stuck his brush into the can, "she's being a pain anyway and - " he was cut short as Lily slammed him up against the wall.

"What were you saying?" she raised an eyebrow at him, her nails digging into his shoulders.

"That you were beautiful, and that I was extremely lucky that you put up with the annoying manner I sometimes take on?" he smiled, raising both eyebrows at her.

"That's what I thought," she grinned and kissed him lightly on the nose, then painted over the spot with her brush, before moving her mouth onto his lips.

"I can't do it," Sirius whined, speaking of his failed attempt to raise his eyebrows. He tried again, making his eyes very wide, and his forehead crunched, but his eyebrows didn't move. "How come Lily and James can do it and I can't?"

"Probably because they're in love," Remus grinned and sent a spray of paint droplets at Sirius, who dropped the failed eyebrow raise immediately to tackle Remus.

"Am I the only sane one?" Peter rolled his eyes, and dipped his brush into the paint and made one long stroke on the wall. "Probably…"
