I am Eya, a waterbender at the Northern Water Tribe. I am only a sixteen and I am pretty much a master at waterbending. I lost my father in the war when I was eight years old of age. My mother is very ill and the healers are doing everything they can to make her feel better. She is the only person who is left of my family except Kukiko, which means snow child, my animal guide. She's a very large white wolf with crystal blue eyes. I got her when I was only five years old. She was a pup when I got her and we've been best friends ever since."Eya! Your mother wishes to see you." said Kukiko, the healer as she walked back in the building. I followed her into the room and I see my mother there, dying from a terrible sickness. I walk over to my mom's bed and knelt beside her. Her face is all pale and her eyes are a dark grey blusish color. My eyes starts to water as she stares at me. "Eya...you know that I love you and that I'll always be with you in your heart." she said as she smiles at me. She takes off something around her neck and hands it to me. Her betrothal necklace my father gave her. I take it from her and looked at it carefully. It was so beautiful and I put it around my neck."I want you to have that so you can remember me." said Mom and with that she was gone."Mom, Mom!" I yelled as she layed there motionless. I started to cry as I saw her lay there. The last person who was part of my family. Now...I'm the last one of my family. I run outside of the building as tears run down my face. Kukiko looks after me as I run. I hear her paws pound on the ice as she runs after me. I run faster but I didn't see a small crack on the ground, so I trip over it and fall to the ground face flat. I didn't feel like getting up and by the time I fell, Kukiko was there. She lays right beside me and I feel cold wet nose against my warm red face. I look up into her crystal blue eyes and I hug her. I didn't care about anything right then but Kukiko and my mother. I knew that now, she's gone forever.
