A/N: I decided to throw this together, I'm a big fan of Superman. I loved how excited the Professor was when he met Superman. I have been made aware that the Professor during the action so its a bit alternate in that he lived.

''I have so many questions, I don´t even know where to begin.'' Professor Hamilton was sweating profusely. The knowledge of life on other worlds was the greatest discovery in human history and for a scientist like himself to have a breathing, talking alien from a civilization eons more advance than Earth, sitting not three feet from him was awe inspiring even though he met the courageous extraterrestrial not a week ago during the attack by the Kryptonian general called Zod and his army.

''I'll begin. Krypton was the fourth planet in the Kryptonian system located 27.1 light years from Earth.'' Superman chuckled. ''It revolved around a star which was older than Earth´s sun, we called it Rao, the patron diety of Krypton.''

The professor scribbled everything down in his notebook. He was going to present this to the university in the coming weeks, humanity had to know about this truly amazing finding. ''What was Krypton like?''

''Krypton began like any other world violent and deadly it formed about 8.7 billion years ago. But getting to the point, hundreds of thousands of years ago, Kryptonians lived as humans did. We dangerously multiplied. We callously consumed the planet's natural resources to feed our civilization's never-ending expansion. We fought wars among ourselves. We let greed and power take over our lives. We defied nature. We spread across the face of Krypton and erected great cities, all to satisfy our egos and our lust for glory and power. We spread across the stars, searching for worlds to settle. We were far more advanced than any race we met. We accomplished great things.

''The colonies collapsed, millions perished, the ruling body of Krypton ceased all operations and implemented artificial population control through genetic engineering, for countless centuries all Kryptonians were born for a specific purpose, Zod was a soldier, my parents were scientists. Our natural resources were exhausted resulting in the planet´s core becoming unstable eventually destroying Krypton centuries later.''

''That´s...terrible.'' The professor was genuinely distraught. Such a wonderful and fascinating race destroyed due to its own hubris. He looked around this planet today and wonders if there was hope for this sad little world but everyday he did see hope in many parts.

''I was the first Kryptonian to be naturally born in centuries, my birth was for all intense and purposes illegal.'' Superman said solemnly. His biological parents risked their lives for him and for that he will be eternally grateful to them for protecting him for sending him to Earth where he found two people who loved him and raised him. ''They eventually launched me to Earth where my father knew I would be safe.''

''What was he like, your father?'' asked the Professor.

''He was pensive, kind, brave, but self-deprecating always checking his notes.'' Superman responded.

''Scientists are like that, regardless of species it seems.'' The Professor chuckled.

Superman's vastly enhanced hearing picked sirens many miles away, it seems something was about to go down.

''We shall talk again soon Professor but something requires my attention, good day.'' Superman said politely before flying out the third floor window of the Professor's third floor office at the University of Metropolis.

The Professor was in awe, he never does get used to that.
