As a fair warning this chapter is very short since I'm still a beginner writer, but I hope you all like it and anticipate the future events to come in the story.

Fateful Encounter

One look was all it took for my life to change forever.

My hand reached for the red hard-cover book on the shelf, my hand gently caressing the spine of it. Just the mere touch of a book made my nerves settle and had me feel at ease. Not even two seconds later, someone stood next to me to pick out their book. Naturally I glaced them, but when I did, I turned to look at him again, longer this time. He was the most handsome man I've ever seen. His short silver hair along with his sparkling blue eyes were so beautiful that you'd think you were looking at a mirage; something so beautiful yet not able to be touched.

The man then turned to look at me, possibly because I was staring for too long. My eyes quickly focused themselves on the array of books in front of me. I felt a small tap on my shoulder and turned to see the suspect of the action. It was the man I had my eyes set on.

"I'm sorry to have bothered you, but I couldn't help but notice the book you have in your hand." He spoke with a thick Russian accent. I could tell that he was trying hard to speak English without messing up.

"What about it?" I asked shyly.

"The author of that book is one of my favorites," he said excitedly.

My heart began to go a mile a minute. I never thought a man so beautiful could ever like something that I do.

"H-he really is a great author," I stated. I began to internally curse myself for stuttering in front of him.

The man smiled more and said, "I'd like to know some of your favorite authors, if you don't mind me asking."

"I don't mind at all."

"We should sit down, then we can talk some more. Is that ok?" My only response to that was a nod. We both sat down at the nearest table and began to discuss our favorite authors, soon evolving to a conversation about our loved ones and such. I looked up at the clock, 5:18 the clock read. My nerves and anxiety began to start up again as I stood up.

"I'm sorry, but I must go. I need to get back home."

"Oh? That's alright. We can continue tomorrow if you're here."

"I'll see if I can make it here tomorrow."

The man only smiled a little bit before asking, "What is your name?"

Just that one question made my heart race even more. I wanted to tell him, yet I was scared because I was afraid of what my boyfriend would do to me of he heard my name come out of the mouth of a stranger. I toughed it out and told him.

"Y-Yuri. Yuri Katsuki."

"That's a lovely name, Yuri. My name is Viktor. Viktor Nikiforov."

"It was nice meeting you Viktor. I'll see you tomorrow I suppose."

"Hopefully we will meet again. Until next time, Yuri."

"Until next time."

That was it. That day marked the change of a new life for me.
