Having an all seeing time lord as a mentor isn't so bad, Danny could put his full faith in Clockwork as he literally knew best. Clockwork had been his mentor for a few weeks now, it started after his fight with Dan. He came to him with a deal, that he would save his family but he had to agree to let Clockwork take ghost guardianship of him, which was basically a mentor and teaching him the ropes of the ghost zone. Since then Danny had been going to see Clockwork every day for lessons. He even already learned a new power. He liked to call it language barrier, it was a passive power that let Danny understand and speak any language he heard.
It was only today that he realized that he also didn't like having an all seeing time lord as his mentor. It started out like any normal day, he had gotten up and ready for school. It was only when he opened the door to leave his house did something happened. He had walked through a blue portal and face planted on the floor on the other side. His eye twitched as he looked back up at the portal floating in midair, the clock hands closing it. "Stupid Clockwork…" He mumbled.
He sat up and that was when he noticed a large crowd around him. Danny was a little confused until he saw the big building behind him. He must be at some school or something. He stood up and placed up his hands to show he meant no harm, "Sorry didn't mean to scare anyone. I will just be on my way now." He told them.
He only got a few steps forward when a big buff man appeared in front of him. Danny instantly sized him up and frowned as he knew he would be a tough opponent if they fought each other. The man had a big smile on his face as he spoke, "Do not fear students for I am here!" He proclaimed loudly.
Danny's eye twitch once again, he hadn't even done anything yet and he was already seen as a villain. "Look, Captain America, I just want to go home so if you would excuse me," Danny told him in English as he tried to walk around him.
"English?" All Might said confused as he stopped the boy from walking around him, "You young man are American are you not? Why are you in Japan?" All Might asked.
"Japan? That's where this is?" Danny said surprised before he started to mumble to himself about having bad luck. "Look I don't want to fight you but I have to leave and I can't let you stop me," Danny told him. He raised his arms ready for any action taking against him when he felt something off balance in his core. His vision blurred as he stumbled forward, confused on what happened he tried to go invisible for a second only to have a green light crack over his body almost like lightning. It was at that moment pain surged through his body and a scream come from his mouth. He fell forward only to have something catch him before he slipped into an unconscious state.
Shota Aizawa was by a window when he saw the blue portal appear out of thin air. He didn't stay around to see what came out as he ran down as fast as he could to the front. He was concerned that the league had attacked again. That spot would potentially get a lot of students hurt before the teachers arrived. He had made it out the front door to see the portal gone and only a lone boy with dark black hair stood in its place. All Might had already beat him down to confront the boy as the boy seemed annoyed. He watched him take an odd fighting stance but he knew if he didn't do something a fight would break out. He ran closer as he activated his quirk erasing whatever the kid was about to use. He didn't expect what happened next, the kid seemed to fumble forward as green lightning cracked over his body. A scream pierced their ears next, Aizawa out of shocked stopped using his quirk and the boy clenched what looked like the center of his chest still screaming.
"Aizawa! What happened? We were just talking things out, he seemed confused about where he was." All Might told him.
"I only erased his quirk, I didn't expect such a violent reaction." He told him staring down at the boy with a deep frown as he had stopped screaming. He was only giving small spasms of pain his hands clenched to his chest still.
"I will take him to Recovery Girl, we can't leave him like this." All Might said as he scooped the boy up in his arms. He almost dropped him at how cold he felt, that's when he noticed the temperature was dropping around them slowly but it was noticeable now. The air was dense. All Might widen his eyes as he realized what was about to happen. "Everyone get back!" He yelled as he curled himself around the lean boy.
It was only seconds after that, a blast came from inside the boy shouting out blue and green light. It had filled a radius before it stopped the boy now unmoving. All Might stood up straight once again to reveal thick ice covering him in some sections to scorches through his clothes on others. He looked a mess, he didn't care he was only concern about the now unmoving boy in his hands. He ran ahead leaving Aizawa and the other students behind, he knew the teacher would help anyone who was injured.
Once he reached Recovery Girl he placed him down on the bed as he stood back and watched her work. He didn't know how long it was but she finished and made her way back to him. "The kid should be fine as far as I can tell. I never saw a quirk more merged with its host. He would surely die without his quirk now, If Shota could erase his quirk I would suggest he not do it again or he would risk permanently damaging the boy." She told him. She then frowned looking at All Might himself. " Now look at you Toshinori you got yourself beat up as well. What on earth happened to you?" She said as she looked him over.
"The kid, after Aizawa erase his quirk a strange blast came from him. I shielded most of it but half of it left this strange ice and the other half burnt me. It was kind of like Todoroki quirk. Except this ice won't come off me and isn't melting either, not to mention it feels colder than normal ice." He said he had gotten most of the ice off him leaving only a thin layer he couldn't remove without hurting himself in the process. He deflated into his other form as the ice finally fell off him.
The classes then proceed like normal except everyone was talking about the strange kid who hurt All Might in one hit. Deku was making his way to Recovery Girl to check on the wounds he had received in Hosu City. He couldn't believe that people believed that some kid hurt All Might, no one was even close enough to see if he was really hurt. As far as he could tell it seemed like he only looked like a mess. He had pulled back the door to find Recovery Girl working on the boy from this morning. Her office a mess with either lines of scorch marks or lines of ice.
"Ah Midoriya, I apologize but would you please come back later if you can. I am taking care of this young boy here and his quirk is dangerous right now." She told him with a smile just then Midoriya watched the boy curl in on himself while holding his chest before a surge of power was released. He tried to guard himself only to be struck by the ice on his arm. He tried to remove it but was stopped Recovery Girl. "There is no use trying to remove it, You can smash most of it off you with one for all but you have to hurt yourself to take off all of it. His ice doesn't melt." She told him.
Deku walked in as a frown set on his face, "His quirk is like Todoroki's, why is it so unstable?" He asked her confused.
"It seemed that Aizawa messed up his quirk when he erased it, he has been giving off these power surges all day." All Might said as he now stood behind Midoriya. "Any news on his condition Chiyo?" All Might then asked.
She only sighed as she looked back at the strange boy on the bed, "Well his condition is stable as far as I can tell besides these power surges, they seem to be getting weaker as time goes by." She told him.
A groan that no one expected to hear filled the room as the young boy probably around Midoriya's age if not younger. "Did someone get the plate number of the truck that hit me?" He said in a joking manner before he winced and grabbed at the center of his chest once more.
"Young man you should lay down you are not well." All Might told him in English just like the boy spoke earlier.
The boy didn't listen to him as he swung his legs over the bed and tried to stand up only to stumble forward. Midoriya thinking quickly ran forward and caught him. "Hey be careful! You should listen to All Might. You could only make your injury worse by moving around like that." Midoriya said in Japanese instinctively.
They didn't expect the boy to understand but he then spoke back in perfect Japanese, "All Might? Is that Cap's name over there? Look I don't have time to rest I need to figure out how to get home."
Midoriya gave him a smile, "You should at least make sure you are okay first. After that, I will help you get home. My name is Midoriya Izuku." Midoriya told him.
"Daniel Fenton, but please call me Danny." He told him before he made his way back on the bed with a sigh. "I haven't been to a doctor in about a year…" He said looking back at the old women next to him.
"That isn't a good habit young man, Your quirk might have been damaged a long time ago and you wouldn't even know." Recovery Girl told him.
"I'm sorry a quirk? What's that?" Danny asked her confused.
"What do you mean what's a quirk? You know like super powers!" Midoriya said excitedly. "I mean you have one, look what you did to this room! You have an amazing power!"
Danny looked around as he finally noticed the mess around them, "I did this?" He said as his eyes flashed a bright blue before the ice all melted away leaving no water to be seen.
"Your quirk seemed unstable for a while, I was surprised you woke up so quickly. You were holding your chest and bursts of blue and green light was coming out of you. You either burned or froze anything it touched." Recovery Girl explained. "You have almost like a ball of power in your chest that I have never seen before. I think that was causing these bursts of power."
Danny slowly reached up to his chest with a frown. He knew it was his core and he hoped nothing was wrong with it. That was his source of power and without it, he wouldn't have his powers. He then realized that no one was talking and he heard no sound anywhere. He looked up to see Clockwork in the corner a time medallion around his neck.
"Clockwork! Why in clockwork's name did you send me to this place!? What is even going on? I mean they said my core was acting up, is it bad? I am going to lose my powers? What if they take over me again like my ice? Or if they become harder to control and I start to fall throw things again!? What if it keeps sending off those blasts!? I could hurt someone! Is there a way to fix this? There has to be a way right!? I mean-"
"Daniel!" Clockwork yelled interrupting the panicking boy in front of him. "You are fine, your core was healing the damage that was done by that teacher. He erases powers or quirks as they call them here. The small surges of your core were just a side effect of fixing the DNA he messed up by erasing your quirk. I would advise you to not let it happen again. See here almost everyone has a quirk as they like to call it. As for why you are here is a simple answer, This is your next lesson. You are to complete it and once you wish to go home, I will send you back and it will be like you never left." He told him.
Clockwork smiled at the boy gently as he opened his portal, "I suggest getting a license, it will help you complete your lesson." He said before he disappeared through his portal.
"But I'm not old enough to drive," Danny said as time played right after that. He sighed as he figured there was no need to hid his powers here if everyone had one. "I'm fine now," Danny told them. "That ball of power you mention should always be there."
"Well, I want you to stay here for a while until I see an improvement myself. I can't have you spasming like that in the streets." She told him.
"I don't see you taking no as an answer so I guess I have no choice." He told her. Recovery Girl only smiled before accepting his answer. She shooed out Deku and All Might before she started to clean up the room. Danny stood up and helped her with on hesitation and before she could say anything else he spoke up, "It's the least I could do, I mean after all I cause this mess."
The two clean in silence for a while before Danny spoke up once again. "I didn't hurt anyone did I?" He asked her.
"Well besides my poor walls, no. Why would you ask that?" She asked him curiously.
"My power…" Danny said as his hand went up to his chest, "if it's not properly controlled it can really hurt someone. I don't want that to ever happen, I made a promise after all." He told her with an odd smile. She recognized it as a smile old heroes wear when they have seen too much in their line of work and are haunted by it. What could this child have experienced that left such a look on his face? She probably never know that answer.
"That man he erased my quirk right? Please don't let him do that again, I might end up in a worse condition next time. My po- I mean quirk it keeps me alive in a way, my core, that's what I call that ball of power you mention earlier, it was healing the damaged he did by erasing it. Those surges of power were a side effect of healing me." He told her. Danny didn't want to explain his powers to anyone it was odd for him to do so, but he could risk that man erasing his powers again. He couldn't risk someone else getting hurt because of it.
"I thought as much, I will make sure that it won't happen again. I don't want another power surge coming from you." She told him as she patted his back.
"Hello you two, I am glad you are doing better Daniel." A new voice said. Much to Danny's surprised he looked over to see a gaint talking mouse or maybe it was a rat, he wasn't sure. "I am Nezu the principal of this fine school, I got a wonderful letter from your guardian explaining why you appeared here. I would have to say I agree with the lesson he is trying to teach you it's important no matter what you do." He told him. "Come walk with me." He told him as he walked out Danny following him.
"Clockwork sent you a letter?" Danny asked him confused.
"Yes, it was very informative. I heard you need a lisence and my school here provides the hero license you need so you can learn your lesson and return home." He told him. "I like you to be in class 1-A as they should be more up to your speed on hero work since I hear you have done some of your own." The two walked back to his office where he climbed up on his chair and took a sip of some smoking hot tea.
Just then a man walked in with an almost skeleton like body. Danny's eyes widen as he recrginzed him almost immedititly. "Wait, is that you Captain America? What happened to you?" Danny asked him shocked. The man looked surprised to see Danny here with the principal frowning at the rat in the chair.
"Ah, Toshinori I'm glad you can make it. I have asked you here to take Mr. Fenton home with you. You see he is from another dimension and knows nothing of our world and has no place to live." He told him. "Since I was sharing his secret to you it seemed only fair that he know yours as well don't you agree. It will make living with each other much easier."
"Sir are you sure this was a good idea what if he goes telling people about this?" All Might asked concerned.
"I know a thing or two about secret identities, so I won't tell anyone," Danny told him crossing his arms.
"How could a boy your age know anything about that?" All Might asked out of curiosity.
Danny frowned, "It doesn't matter." He told him. Just because he was living with his man didn't mean he'd have to tell him everything about his life.
"You two should get along nicely, Toshinori here is the number one hero. There is a lot you could probably learn from him if he watched him." Nezu said before shooing them both out of his office. "Make sure you visit Recovery Girl later to make sure you are all right." He said before he closed his door.
Nezu smiled as he sat back in his chair looking over the letter Clockwork has sent him, He knew those two would be good for each other and he couldn't wait to see how they both grew.
