The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a bright light over my sleeping face. Not one to be a morning person, I turned away, instantly snuggling into the aqua locks of my beautiful girlfriend. I slid my arms around her waist, feeling the warmth of her body against my own.
I don't remember what I did to get her. It seems like yesterday that I was brushing her off when she asked me if she could draw me. God was I a fool. I never realized how much I had hurt her at that moment.
I swore from that moment on that I would take care of her and appreciate her with every breath I take.
I look over her beautiful sleeping body, curled up between my arms and smile in amazement. She was so peaceful when she slept, captivated by her dreams.
I brush a stray strand out of her face, silently cursing myself as she stirs from her slumber. She nestles back into me, pressing her body a little closer, our warmth combining.
"Good morning Michi." I say, smiling into her hair and kissing the back of her head.
"Good morning Ruka." She replies. I can tell by the tone in her sleepy voice that she is also smiling.
"Michi? Today, let's just stay in bed all day. I don't want to do a single thing today but be with you." I say, caressing her stomach lightly.
She traces my hand with her own, tickling it lightly with her nails. "I like that idea."
