"Abigail, could you come downstairs? You're father and I would like a word with you." Virginia Locke's voice called up to Abi's room. Abigail looked up from her packing, puzzled.
'I thought we covered everything at dinner…'she thought to herself, hopping down the stairs.
"Yes, mama?" she replied.
"Honey, we just received an owl from your school. I'm fairly certain you'll be interested in it's contents." Her mother's usually calm voice had a bit of an edge to it tonight.
"What's it about?" Abigail inquired, trying to read the letter in her mother's hands.
"Apparently, a muggle somehow got under the concealment charms at the institute. They mistook him for a dark wizard, and he was immediately hexed. Don't worry," she hastily added, catching her daughter's expression, "He's going to be alright. But with security compromised, they've decided it was in everyone's best interest to move them all to the sister school until a new location is decided upon."
"Sister school…you mean, Hogwarts?" Abigail's voice bubbled with excitement.
"Just the one, baby girl," her dad finally spoke up, "You get to go to Hogwarts!"
"But how am I going to get there? We're not connected to the floo network, and I'm too young to apparate." Her mother consulted the letter.
"It says here that they've assigned a wizarding family to take care of you during you're stay. The Weasly's, I believe the letter said."
"Weasly? As in Arthur and Molly Weasly?" her father questioned.
"Um…yeah that's what the letter says." Abigail replied.
"The Weasly's are good people. Arthur and I were in the same year and house at Hogwarts. You're lucky to have gotten them as a host family," her father stated seriously.
"That still doesn't tell me how we're going to get there." Abigail stated desperately.
"The letter stated that you were to floo there tonight." Her mother said examining the note again.
"So go finish packing kid, we'll only be connected to the network long enough to get you there."
Abigail took the stairs two at a time. She threw the rest of her things pell-mell into her trunk and dragged it down the stairs.
"I'm ready!" she announced, coming to a stop in the sitting room.
"Good, because they're ready for you," her father said, glancing at the emerald flames in the fire place. She hugged both of her parents, saying goodbye.
"Tell Arthur and Molly I said hello," her father requested smiling, "Tell them Charles said hello."
"Okay, I will," she promised, "Bye!" she waved one final time before scooping out some floo powder and stepping into the green fire.
"Weasley Household!" she stated with conviction, tossing down the floo powder. And everything began to spin.
