I, Naruto have thought I had always known the story of the demon fox, but I have been wrong. The story as I thought it was, was that the demon fox was evil and attacked the village. I thought it was like that because Jiraya told it to me like that and he told me it was a secret.
One day I decided to find out if I was right. I waited until midnight so I could sneak into the third Hokage's room and look for evidence that determines if I'm right or wrong. I dug and dug. What do you think I found? A scroll. A secret scroll. All the sudden the third Hokage woke up, so I darted to the door as fast as I could and escaped. The third Hokage immediately sent out ninja to stop me.
I ran and ran as fast as I could until I couldn't run any more. I stopped, out of breath. I quickly glanced at the scroll barely having time to take meaning of the words, when two ninja appeared and took the scroll away from me then darted away. I quickly tried to chase them to get it back, but unfortunately they were too fast.
That night in bed, I tried to understand the words from what I glanced at. "Demon fox… not evil… curious… just… hmmm… is… a little…GOT IT!" I put the pieces together as if it were a jigsaw puzzle. "Demon fox is not evil just a little curious!" I thought taking full meaning of the words now.
I just had one question now. Why was the third Hokage trying to hide the truth? I thought and thought until I couldn't think anymore. I quickly fell asleep, tired from all the hard thinking.
The next day I decided to try to do the same thing I did when I tried to get info about the demon fox. I waited until midnight to go to the third Hokage's house. This time I suspected that they would do more guarding, but there was none. I sneaked into his room and found another secret scroll. I read it carefully and quietly suspecting the Hokage to awake, but he didn't. This time I didn't attempt bring the scroll back to my house. I knew he was going to wake up any minute. I tiptoed to the door and sneaked out.
That night, I knew why the third Hokage was hiding the truth. He did it because he thought the demon fox was evil, and it wasn't, so if people found out, he would get embarrassed for thinking wrong.
I tried to tell my siblings, cousins, you name it, but no one believed me. I decided to put it on fanfiction so that lots of people will read it and I hope that you believe me, people who are reading this story!
