Mine

Be Mine

They had quite a history with the word mine. The first time it was in preschool, a time which Natsu could barely remember.

The pinkette reached out his tiny hand to grab a building block that sat on the preschool's ABC rug, when a pale hand collided with his.

"Um. That's mine," said the owner of the hand, a small, pale boy with dark black hair and sunglasses.

"No it isn't," Natsu insisted, pouting. "It's mine, dodo. Can't you see, mine's red and yours are blue."

"I can't see, stupid!"

"It's probably because of those dumb glasses you're wearing."

"I'm blind, you dumbo!"

"Oh. Want me to tell you what fireworks look like?"

"Sure, I guess."

"They're really pretty and bright and colorful and they go way up high in the sky when you set them off!"

"I could see them before, but I still wanna see them again. What do you look like?" The dark haired boy asked, reaching out to find the person he was talking to. "What's your name? I'm Gray."

Natsu was glad that Gray was blind, because when Gray's pale hand made contact with Natsu's knee, he blushed like mad, and he was so happy that Gray couldn't see. "Oh. I'm Natsu!" the pinkette said, grinning brightly. "I have pink hair and my skin kinda dark compared to yours. I think I have green eyes… I think."

"Mine are blue."

"You're standing in front of my desk Gray. No, that one's mine. Yours is just to the right- No, the other right. Yeah. There." Natsu said, gripping 11-year-old Gray's pale wrist as he guided him to his desk.

"Thanks, flame brain."

"You're welcome, ice block."

Natsu watched from afar as two girls fought over a very confused Gray.

"No! I will take Gray to class!"

"Juvia will! Gray-sama is Juvia's!"

"OI!" The pinkette shouted, walking over to the commotion, where Gray was looking around desperately for a way out of the situation. "Gray isn't an object. And since he's my best friend, I'll take him to class," Natsu said, grabbing Gray's ivory-skinned hand and pulling him along down the hall.

"You just saved my ass, again, Dragneel."

"No problem, Fullbuster. You know I would do anything for you, and you would do the same for me." Gray blushed at that and re-adjusted his grip on Natsu's hand.

Neither one let go as they walked down the hall.

The pinkette kneeled down in the soft grass of the park, hand in his shirt pocket. Gray sat on the park bench in front of him, patiently waiting for Natsu to speak.

Pulling the small velvet box out of his pocket and opening it, even though Gray couldn't see it, Natsu began. "I might be an idiot, and I may not have done the best things in my time, but I love you, ice block," the black-haired man raised his hands to his face as he realized what was happening, tears of joy beginning to form in his eyes. The pinkette smiled and continued, "And I know that you love me too. So, will you be mine forever, Gray Fullbuster?"

"Y-yes," Gray stuttered out, crying freely now. "O-of course. Always," He said, reaching out blindly to find Natsu's face.

Natsu closed the box and placed it gently on the park bench before pulling Gray out of his seat and into the grass, and kissing the living daylights out of him.

Needless to say, they were happily married, and Natsu got what was his.
