Chapter One

My name is Wolfie Lewis, daughter to Virginia Lewis and Wolf Lewis. It was my dad's idea to name me after him and mom just kind of went with it. Mom is from good old New York City and my dad… well, he is from a place of fairy tales, quite literally. He also happens to be a wolf... In the Kingdoms, there are nine different kingdoms that are ruled by different families. Like the Snow White, Cinderella, and Red Riding Hood families. It just so happens that my mother, father and grandfather, Anthony Lewis, saved the great-grandson of Snow White. It's a long story, and not really mine to tell.

This is the beginning of the story. Well, not really, it's just the beginning of my story. It's all about finding my life mate… She's supposed to be out there, it's just finding her.

My dad keeps on telling me that when I meet her, I'll know that she is the one. "Wolves mate for life," is his go to thing when he sees me dating around. Its different here than in the Kingdoms, not to mention I'm only half wolf.

I just don't know if I can find her, I don't even know if she exists. She could be here in this world or she could be in the Kingdoms. And, to be honest, I'm starting to get hopeless on searching.

"Don't worry too much," my mom tells me when I come to her about my problem, "Just look at your dad. It took him a long time to find me."

When I was about ten, I came to my parents and told them I needed to talk. I had no idea how they would react, especially my dad. I was so scared.

I took a deep breath and decided to just come out with it. "I'm gay."

My mom instantly smiled at me and said whatever makes me happy, she's happy. My dad just sat there with a confused look on his face.

My mom leaned over to him and stage whispered, "It means our daughter likes girls, Wolf."

"Oh!" he exclaimed loudly. He took a few seconds to think about it, and then he smiled at me. "Wolfie, you can't choose who you like, it's just a part of nature. But, now that you have found this out, you can start looking for your mate!"

That was when the search began. We started in the Kingdoms, but after about six years there, mom decided to try her world. We moved from state to state, looking for the one. We only stayed in a state for two maybe three months. Then we moved to Oregon a little over a month ago. Mom always wanted to live here, and she was hoping that my mate might be here. I knew she wasn't, though. I was done trying. If she would be in my life, she would have to find me.

I walked into the living room to tell them that the search was hopeless, and that was when I saw her. There she was, standing in the background of the news reporters broadcast. It felt like my heart stopped. All I could do is stare. I couldn't hear the news reporter, I couldn't hear my parents talking, and I couldn't read the words on the screen.

It took me a few to regain myself. "Where is this?" I asked suddenly and harshly.

My mom looked at me confused and concerned. "This is back home in New York. Why do you ask?"

I ignore her question and ask one of my own, not taking my eyes off the TV. "What's going on?"

"Apparently there was an incident with a teacher and a student. It wasn't far from the apartment where we use to live." mom replied.

My head snaps to her at that. "Did I go to that school?"

"No… But you would have if we stayed put. It's the high school you were going to go to."

I look back to the TV and whisper, "We need to go back…"

My dad sat up suddenly. "Is she there?!"

I nod as I grab the remote and paused the program. I slowly walk up to the TV and gently caress the image of the most beautiful girl I had ever set my eyes on. Her long brown hair shown in the sunlight, her green eyes piercing even through camera. "It's her..."
