Prompt: Inu/Kikyo. Types of kisses: Wake up kisses pressed gently to the column of A's neck or the underside of B's jaw. (From otpdisaster).

Inuyasha had never known that waking up could be such a cause for celebration.

Before, he'd always slept restlessly, tossed and turned, and woke up ready to tear hell through the world. After all, he was only returning the favor.

Like everything else, Kikyo changed this.

The first night he'd spent with Kikyo, they'd let go of every restraint, and it had left them with some… interesting marks and bruises, but nothing out of hand. He'd even felt gentle, wrapping her in his shirt and running his hands over her porcelain skin, counting the stripes of purple on her thighs and kissing them until she squirmed beneath his tongue.

He'd fallen asleep, his arm around Kikyo's waist and her hand tangled in his hair. He'd expected, if he was honest, that she would wake up and leave before the villagers could have found her.

He wasn't even entirely sure if she was allowed to do this, as a priestess.

But he didn't care. He'd had a taste of what it meant to be desired, to be held in someone's arms and accepted as something worth having.

When he woke to a soft nip at his throat, a cool hand sliding up his chest, he'd nearly snarled at her in surprise. He'd only just caught himself when he heard her giggle, the soft, bell-like sound that only she made. It sounded like a trick, and felt like one too, but he eased into her arms and his mouth twitched into a grin. She continued up his jaw, her smile pressing wet kisses on his heated skin.

"I know you're awake Inuyasha. I've learned all your little quirks, now." Kikyo laughed again, and this time Inuyasha peeked out of one eye, catching her slim silhouette in the light.

"Aren't you gonna get in trouble or something?" He muttered, sniffing to see if anyone else was around them.

"Not if you're quiet." Kikyo tapped her finger against his lips, cupping her hand under his jaw. Her smile slid away. "Not if you were human."

The sentence, half question and half plea, left a chill in his chest. "I ain't going to become a human just because the villagers have their necks in a twist. They can get over it."

Kikyo hummed, tilting her head back down to him. She kissed him again, the salty-sweet taste of her lips dashing any lingering coldness in his veins.

They'd think of humanness another day, but this morning was for secret kisses, and the remainder of Inuyasha's gentleness.
