Hey so this is my first time using fanfiction and I hope my story interests you. Disclaimer: I do not own anything Percy Jackson. Credit 2 Rick Riordan for creating such a wonderful series (how do u pronounce his name anyway?!) Note: This is only an introduction, should I continue?
Thunder rumbled in the distance as lightning lit up the gray sky. It had been rainy all day, but I still stood on the sand stubbornly as I looked out to the stormy gray sea. I didn't care about the bad weather. Unaware of surroundings, I kicked off my old flip flops and leaned back on a bench, closing my eyes and stuffing my ears with earphones. I ignored the feeling of my brown hair whipping across my face. A sense of relaxation washed over me before I had that weird feeling again. I came to the beach every day, just to calm my nerves.
But this time it didn't seem to work. My heart raced and I tensed. There was only one word in mind: RUN. But I sat still. I shut my eyes tighter, and turned my music up louder. Go away, I thought. Whoever you are, just please go away. You would think I'm crazy, but I knew something was watching me. Normally, nothing would happen and the feeling would go back away again. But this time, I felt a bright warm light in front of me. It radiated a power of some type. Suddenly there was a presence in front of me.
I slowly opened my eyes. I froze in terror. In front of me, a young women towered above me, her dark hair spiraling down her shoulders. She wore a traditional white Greek style tunic and had a look of disgust. "A Greek spawn." She murmured. Woah, what happened to her. She eyed me, and her face expression turned into a look of disbelief. "Cool Halloween costume." I praised how real her costume looked. Her puzzled face turned into rage. "How dare you insult me! He broke his oath again?" she spat. Huh? What oath? Insult? I only told her how great her costume looked. Who the heck was she talking about? "Excuse me?" I said. She started to speak. "Impossible. Are you aware of who you are?" she snarled.
"Other than my name being Brianna, no." I responded. "You are not aware of your own strength. Lost and hopeless. But you are very important for the future. You hold half the fate of Camp Half Blood, and possibly New Rome." If I know anything, half-blood sounded like half-human right? Was this women crazy? How could she just appear out of literally nowhere and tell me I'm lost and hopeless? Questions buzzed around in my head. "Who are you?" I finally managed to escape my lips. "Why waste my time on this?" she muttered to herself.
"I am Hera, goddess of childbirth and marriage. Queens of the gods." She added the last part proudly. Hera? Like as in Greek Mythology? This was starting to get a little weird. There was no such thing as gods. What would hera want with me? "I can only give you as much information as I have given." Hera said as if she read my mind. She passed me a slip of paper. "Follow the directions on the paper. You will need to start your training as soon as possible." Before I could look up from the paper, she disappeared as fast as she came. What the heck?
