Laura was having a perfectly normal day, and for once she actually had her homework done for more than one class. She felt accomplished, and treated herself with hot chocolate from the coffee cart. The thing about the day being normal however, meant that without question, a certain dark haired, stubborn, insolent vampire would be curled up with something that didn't belong to her. And sure enough when Laura got back to her dorm, there was her yellow pillow, with black hair splayed over it like paint.
Laura felt accomplished today. And nothing would make her feel more accomplished than getting that pillow back. Straightening out her shirt, she set down her things and stalked over to the sleeping (snoring) thief. Upon closer inspection, she found the pillow wrapped up in the girl's arms, facing the wall opposite her. Using her cat like reflexes, or lack thereof, Laura carefully crawled on the edge of the bed, and reached over, what she would think of as gracefully, and tried to tug the pillow from the vampire.
And absolutely nothing happened.
The small girl furrowed her eyebrows in frustration. She wasn't going to let this ruin her perfect day.
She tugged once again, freezing when she heard a slight huff from Carmilla, only to see the dark haired girl tighten her arms on the pillow, almost protectively.
Laura pushed up on her feet, effectively squatting in front of Carmilla and wrapped up her hands in the pillow case.
"C'mon Laura, you got this." She mumbled to herself, taking a deep breath and trying not to look down at Carmilla's face, or the way her hair fell around her face, or the way her skin looked-...
She pulled.
The pillow case that is.
There were two options. Fall back and break her neck, or kick out her legs and fall on top of the vampire. The fanged, probably pissed off vampire. But she probably wouldn't snap Laura's neck. Hopefully.
Laura picked the latter, if only in hope of a quick get away, and landed on the girl with a huff. With a slight miscalculation, her slightly terrified eyes were staring right big brown eyes, that snapped open like it was Paranormal Activity.
Laura's eyes went wide with fear, a string of apologizes pushing from her lips as she fumbled to get up, failing more than once.
"Creampuff?" Carmilla said, in a surprisingly soft voice, even as Laura scrambled on top of her like a fish out of water.
Laura's eyebrows shot up in surprise, mouth opening like said fish, with no sound coming out. But she did stop squirming.
"If you wanted to cuddle, all you had to do was ask." It sounded like a joke, and Laura was waiting for the punchline when Carmilla's lithe arms slipped around her, the tired, and probably a little out of it vampire tucking the smaller girl into her as she closed her eyes again, the yellow pillow replaced by it's owner. And as Laura hesitantly felt her lips brush Carmilla's shoulder, and felt a waft of her perfume overwhelm her, she slipped her arms around Carmilla's neck, and thought that it really was a perfect day.
