"You might be just what I need
No I would not change a thing..."- The Fiction We Live- From Autumn to Ashes
She's tries too hard sometimes, but is rather lazy in other aspects of her training. She did learn to walk a tightrope after a few fumbling attempts. She is doing all this to be his bride. These are the thoughts circulating through the mind of one Hatori Hanzo, as he watches Usagi in the distance practicing her shuriken throwing.
It really seemed like it was all in vain though. He was adamant in not taking a bride. He had his brief stint with marriage, a falsehood for the sake of others. And Sara was a remarkable woman and assisting her ensured happiness was enough for him. Even if times he did wonder if perhaps she was better off staying his "wife" when the other Hanzou did something stupid (which was quite often).
And now this girl, this little bundle of energy disguised as a girl who was ungraceful, clumsy, loud...but she persisted in getting her tasks done and that was admirable. She had spirit and was, he supposed, cute. She was so determined to be his bride...
But he would not wed. He didn't need that complication in his life. He liked his order, he liked the everyday dull and he preferred to keep his emotional attachments to a minimum. It was as his lifestyle dictated.
Maybe she felt she needed to change to gain his attentions...that she as she was not enough of a woman to be a man's wife.
No. She wasn't wrong as she was, maybe she needed more discipline and motivation training wise...but then she was young. She would mature.
No, she did not need to change a thing.
He supposed, if he were inclined to take a wife she would be a counter-balance. His stern, commanding, strict nature to her vivacious, bubbly nature. Perfect opposite forces.
But she was wasting her time really.
The idea of them marrying was simply a fiction she lived.
Perhaps if they had met at a different time...

Oh short and seemingly hopeless for Usagi, isn't it?
I still need to make a notation somewhere next time at Borders to buy vols 1 and 2 instead of just sitting and reading them there again.
