Settling into bed at night is one of the most wonderful parts of my day now that I'm stuck home. Nos will pull back the crisp silk sheets and let me lie down before settling in next to me and snapping at the lights to turn off. He then folds his arms around my body, pulling me fully into a warm embrace.

But, for some reason, tonight is different. Nos-4-a2 snaps for the lights off before he pulls the sheets down on the bed. His hands guide me to my resting place and we both lie down together. He doesn't even keep the snuggling embrace, instead reaching out for something beyond my perception.

"Nos... What are you doing?" I query.

"I picked you up a little something today. I couldn't help thinking of you when I saw it," my husband replies as his fingers grasp a hidden parcel under the bed. He picks it up and carefully discards the wrapping. "Close your eyeforms, my love~."

I do as he says with a smile, even covering my visor with my hands. A gasp of pleasure seeps from my speakers at the sweet sensation that comes next.

Pressed against my metal with the gentlest hand is an incredibly soft piece of fabric. I can't help cooing in delight as Nos rubs the wonderful cloth up my side and into my head port. His arms wrap around me and pull the delicate fabric all around my body, practically making me purr with the warm sensation.

"I knew you'd like it..." he murmurs softly. My mate's loving optics gaze down at me with even more warmth than the delicious material.

"Where did you find this?" I ask incredulously, writhing with delight.

"A new little fabric shop opened up in town today, so I went to look around. I thought this would make a perfect blanket for the baby's crib, but I knew you'd like it too, so I ordered a cloak to be made in your size. It'll be delivered right to the house in a few days," he chuckles at the sight of my childish behavior and snuggles close to me in the soft cocoon of blankets.

"Nos-4-a2, we're going to have the luckiest baby in the entire galaxy," I purr, "Almost as lucky as me~."

Nos kisses my forehead and lightly caresses my belly, "I love you so much. I'll give you anything to make you more comfortable; I feel awful about keeping you cooped up all day. You know what... you should come to work with me tomorrow if you're feeling well. At lunch we can leave the shop to browse around while Harris and Jenn keep it running. What do you say?"

I nestle into my husband's chest and rest my visor at the base of his neck, "Yes. As long as we can sleep with this blanket tonight. It's so comfortable that the baby's actually stopped moving."

"The little 'bot can tell when Mummy's happy~" Nos chuckles.

"Pregnant with a baby that can perceive my feelings. It's already a little Fledgling..." I smile, "It's going to be a lot of work for you to bring the both of us up as Energy Vampires!"

Nos brings me closer. "No, my dear, it'll be a breeze. You're doing so wonderfully in your learning that you'll be able to fledge him-or-her with me."

I close my eyeforms and let myself relax in the wondrous embrace of the blanket and my family. Nos's lips find the base of my visor, conjuring up a light blue arc of electricity. Before long, I fall to sleep mode, happily observing that I'm a part of the luckiest family on Earth.
