Hi all! This is just a quick one-shot I wanted to get out there as a sort of 'hey, look, I'm alive' type of thing. I've been very busy with school and, my computer's hard-drive died and I lost many an un-posted fic as well as the original drafts of other fics. But, here's this one and it's also a toast to new beginnings. I don't own EAH, enjoy.

"Mmm…meow," Kitty Cheshire sat up in bed and twisted her neck around, she'd been sleeping very uncomfortably and she couldn't fathom why.

But, then she looked down at the beauty who still lay asleep and, she began putting two and two together.

There was her girlfriend, The Princess of Hearts, Lizzie. And, as beautiful as Lizzie was when she slept, she looked all but comfortable right now.

Not in the physical sense, no. That wasn't it.

Lizzie was in her usual place, turned facing away from the wall even though her back was pressed firmly to that very wall. The long ebony and crimson locks of her hair cascaded down the pillow with the same elegance they always did and framed her face delicately.

Speaking of Lizzie's face, her eyes were shut tightly and while a typically calm and cool expression graced her features in her sleep, she looked to be in pain.

Frowning at this realization, Kitty knew that she had to do something to change this. She sighed as she began to brainstorm when, Lizzie rolled over and was now facing towards her.

Kitty's ice blue eyes widened as an idea popped into her head. It was somewhat of a long shot but, because the idea was rather 'loving' in a sense, it might work.

Flashing that signature Cheshire smile of hers, Kitty decided to put her plan into action.

Slowly, as not to cause more unrest to Lizzie in her sleep, Kitty got back into the covers and ever so gently snuggled up to her girlfriend. She wrapped her arms around Lizzie with a certain protectiveness.

"Fear not my princess," Kitty whispered, "I'm here, right here, by your side. And, I always will be."

Lizzie shifted a bit, digging her head into the pillow some more and, she pulled Kitty in closer to her chest.

"If not, it will be…zzz…off with your…" Lizzie talked in her sleep.

Not able to stifle her giggles, Kitty rested her head in the crook of Lizzie's neck. They were both going to sleep much more comfortably now and, they would be fine to live their happily ever after together.
