The story behind this poem: Xena: Warrior Princess has fallen hard for her best friend Gabrielle. Besotted with the young beauties gentle grace, she steels glances at the girl and describes, in a somewhat poetic way, how she sees her secret love each morning.

Morning star,

Shining bright, golden,

Wisps of corn flying free,

Green emeralds sparkling, watching me.

Red fruit, nectar sweet,

Wet and glistening, soft,

Succulent to the taste, touch,

A drug to draw from much.

Petal soft and lily's fair,

Beauty, grace, strong,

Tender touched, the gentle caress,

The pleasure partaken, within lips to press.

The gentle scent, and morning dew,

Bardly thoughts,

Her comic haze,

And me, swept, captured within her gaze.

Secret thoughts, to say out loud,

Words cannot explain,

Heaven in my arms, you would be,

And my soul would soar; fly free.
