Bards Note: I haven't written a poem in a while, so be gentle. My muse and me seem to be in the middle of a domestic...long story!

Splintered Souls by Melissa Jones

Alone I sit but I can feel your kiss, your gentle ghost.

I see you in dreams and fantasies of love.

Your face is a shadow, but the smile I do see and the love you crave from me.

Alone I wait till the day we meet, till the day you come to me.

Two souls at last to meet, to feel whole, and to live as one.

Alone I am, the soft remorse of each day passed does come haunt me.

Where are you, my spirit yearns; I watch the sky and the stars for you.

In every face I see I hope to find, a glimpses of my other part,

The splinted piece of my fragmented heart.

I listen to songs of love and hear the laughter of lovers pass.

I envy their feelings, their troubles and woes,

Their love and passionate throes.

I look to the skies to the hills and the roads,

The rain does fall and I listen and watch still.

Everyday I do carry on, with life and work and fun,

I seem to be living a chore.

But you're never to far from my thoughts,

I will carry your essence with me forever.

Until in time we finally meet, if not in this life than in a better.
