Pinkie Pie knew she should be scared, but she was merely bemused. Cotton candy clouds raining chocolate milk upon the constantly changing landscape while houses floated upside down and bunnies ran by on long, gangly legs? This had Discord written all over it. But Discord was reformed, wasn't he? He didn't mess up Ponyville that badly anymore.
"You're right, Pinkie Pie, but he's not the only one with chaos magic…" a very deep voice said behind her. She felt a chill and spun around to see a wendigo levitating behind her. It was massive, and a cloud of frosty air surrounded it. Pinkie Pie stepped back, worried she might freeze. She had only seen wendigos in legends. They were banished long ago. Three other ponies stood by him. They looked vaguely familiar. She thought she saw them in a dream or something… What were they called? Sirens?
"I kind of figured you would have chaos magic," the pony said cheerfully, figuring that this must be a dream. Nothing could hurt her in a dream.
"No, you daft filly! You do!" Cold air rushed at her, frosting on her mane.
"Me? No, I'm just random." Pinkie Pie shrugged and continued smiling.
"And why do you think you're random, fool?"
"Don't you think calling me 'fool' is a bit cliche?"
"It's time for you to accept your destiny. You do not yet realize the full extent of your powers. You are naive. You think you fight on the side of good, and that I am evil. There is no good and evil, only order and chaos, and the natural way of the universe is chaos! The universe doesn't work in straight lines, a fact you know very well. That's how you can pull objects out of thin air, and know what's happening in alternate universes. But surely you knew that already. With Discord on the side of order, our power is not as strong as it once was. Join us, and with your powers, we can abolish this unnatural order! We can show the world its true form, and every day will be a party!"
Pinkie shook her head and glared at the wendigo. "Parties are fun because not every day is a party. How can a pony appreciate a party if they have one every day? Parties are special occasions!"
"You incompetent, stubborn little-" The rest of his rant was cut off by the roar of a torrential blizzard. Snow covered Pinkie Pie and chilled her to the bone. She was frozen to the ground, ice crawling up her legs. She shivered and suddenly began to fear for her life. If this was only a dream, why couldn't she escape? She struggled against the ice, but it didn't budge. In desperation, she thought of something that could help. A hot tub formed around her, melting the ice. She was safe in the hot water.
The wendigo spoke up again, louder than the blizzard. "Your presence in Equestria is a security risk. Allowing chaos to exist in places of order, can only lead to more chaos. Why do you think Nightmare Moon, Discord, and Tirek were able to invade?"
"I am also the Element of Laughter, and if it weren't for me they would have conquered Equestria. You are trying to make me leave so that the Elements of Harmony won't work, aren't you? Maybe the world needs a little chaos. Otherwise it would be a boring, joyless place. When I was working at the rock farm, things were very strict and orderly. There was no fun at all. When something disrupted that order, I learned how fun it can be to be unpredictable and random. But it was only fun because it was a change from everyday life. I may have Chaos magic, but I am not like you. I know the importance of balance. I will not leave Equestria, and I will not leave my friends."
Pinkie concentrated all her energy on pushing the wendigo away. It was as if a shockwave surged out from her, and Ponyville was back to normal with not a villain in sight. The hot tub disappeared. Before Pinkie Pie woke up, she thought she caught a glimpse of Princess Luna smiling at her.
