Break The Silence

Author's Note: I don't own Vampire Academy! Richelle Mead does.

Break The Silence is a song I heard from the band Killswitch Engaged. Somehow it brought me into "story-mode", so this is how I got the idea of this story. :D Enjoy The Story Or Not!

Rose is 21 and Dimitri is 24. *End of Author's Note.*

"Rose can you help me with this?" Lissa asked. I walked up to her and zipped up the back of her dress.

"Lissa you're so beautiful." I complimented. She smiled, "But you're gorgeous."

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever these looks might go away by the time I'm thirty." I joked.

Lissa giggled and shook her head, "Well, ready for the party?"

I groaned. I hated the royal parties. All they did was talk about the

latest news, mingle, eat small portion meals, and enjoyed whatever orchestra music played.

But it's not like I had a choice. I'm Lissa's guardian. We checked ourselves in the mirror

for the last time making sure we looked drop dead gorgeous.

I had to admit I look fantastic.

My guardian suit made me look professional, yet hugged me in the right places to show off my curves.

I had hair was tied back into a high ponytail and added lip gloss, mascara, and eyeliner.

We made our way to the party and began mingling. Guardians were aligned against the wall scanning the party

as they usually did. I signed knowing that we have such dull lives. We risk our lives for these Moroi and some

have the audacity not to respect us or don't give a shit about if we live or die. They take us for granted. And I hate it.

"Rose?" I looked to my left to see Lissa who was with a handsome Moroi.

He had those dark emerald eyes which meant he's from the Royal Moroi family, Ivashkov.

Unlike most Moroi his skin was slightly tan and he kind of seemed like he works out.

His hair was styled messy.

I smiled and walked up to Lissa. "Yes?"

"I'd like you to meet Adrian Ivashkov. He's Queen Tatianna's great nephew."

I nodded, "Nice to meet you." He smiled, "Nice to meet you too Little Dhampir."

"Rose I'll be back." Lissa then walked to mingle with other Royals before I could ask questions.

Great I'm stuck with some random spoiled Moroi. "Oh no need to judge me before you get to know me."

Adrian smirked. I blinked surprised. "What?"

He arched an eyebrow, "I can read your aura and you're already annoyed of me."

To say I was surprised was an understatement.

"Come on let's go on the roof." He suggested linking his arm with mine

and guiding us to the upstairs patio. I still couldn't believe Lissa left me behind.

He smiled, "Don't worry Little Dhampir there are plenty of guardians here if you need protection."

He then winked. I groaned and rolled my eyes,

"Whatever, but if you try be perverted you'll get hurt." I warned.

He then nodded and took out a cigarette and began smoking.

I rolled my eyes, "You're going to kill yourself." He smirked, "Want one?"

I shook my head. "So Rose do you like being a guardian?" Adrian questioned.

I smiled, "I love guarding Liss- er Vasilia's guardian, but other than that there's no excitement."

He nodded. "You know I could use a guardian."

I looked at him and he smiled, "You could be my guardian?" I smiled, "No thanks."

He was going to say something when I felt nauseous. NO! STRIGOI ARE HERE!

BUT HOW? We're heavily guarded! "Rose what's wrong?" Concern written on Adrian's face.

"Strigoi are here! I have to save Lissa!" Adrian's eyes widened and he took out a stake.

I was shocked to know he carried one, but now was no time to ask questions.

I took out my stake and by the time Adrian and I tried to warn the guards about the Strigoi

they burst through the door! Moroi tried running away and some were already getting attacked!

Guardians began killing off the Strigoi. As I fought I was also looking for Lissa.

"Rose!" Liss yelled across the room.

I ran to the corner of the room and staked her Strigoi who nearly bit into her neck.

I told Lissa to hide and I'll be back for her. I went back to fighting more Strigoi.

The air smelled of blood, the atmosphere filled with fear.

"Rose watch out!" Adrian warned.

I turned around and a blond Strigoi grabbed me by my neck. I began punching and kicking.

He laughed and soon chocked. His eyes went blank and we fell to the ground.

Adrian pulled out his stake from the Strigoi's heart.

I owed him for saving my life. Some Strigoi began retreating and from the corner of my eye I saw a Strigoi with long chin length hair ready to attack Adrian. I pushed Adrian out the way and felt a blow to my temple. After that everything went black.
