It was dark. Pitch black that even the sun couldn't illuminate. Maybe that's why she stayed in his bed. The was the only reason she would have laid there in his arms. She didn't care for him, and she knew he didn't care for her. They were together for one simple reason.

Purple had died.

No one in the empire knew why, but he had. Tak looked down at Red. His sleeping face rested just above her breasts and on her shoulder. She traced the side of his face to his chin. He really was beautiful. Like an older, taller Zim, but crueler. Red was a true killer. He was never gentle with her. He didn't touch her gently, he didn't kiss her warmly and he didn't look at her lovingly. No. He ripped her flesh with his claws, he made her lips burn as he tore at them with his lips and tongue, he glared at her with an inferno of hate. They weren't really lovers.

"Pur." Tak smiled sadly at her Tallest. He was torn apart. He was a Tallest and he was Red, but he was never both at once. Red had died with Purple. The Red she'd loved and hated for all the same reasons had died with him. She couldn't say that she hated Purple, because she never would. She'd always adored them both, but it was Red's smoldering lava eyes that had kept her loyal to the empire. And now, as she lay beside Red, she quietly wondered if being his replacement was worth it.

"I have to go. I can't be just a toy. I'm sorry, Red. I respect myself more then that." Tak slid from the bed and was thankful this was just one of those quiet nights. Her black under chest armor was still on as were her bootie shorts. She walked slowly towards her cloths and reached out for her pants.

"Who said I was using you?" Tak spun in shock. Red still lay on his stomach, but now his scarlet eyes burned into her chest. She leaned back and was, again, thankful for the dark, even though she knew he could see her with no problem.

"It was just a feeling." her voice was horse as she whispered it. His antenna would pick up on the soft vibrations of her voice and tell him what she'd said. Red sat up a bit, just so that his chest was off the bed. He motioned for her to return to the bed.

Tak found him hard to resist, even though her whole being told her to leave. She sat down and he gently placed a kiss on her upper arm. It was far to gentle, "I tried to separate you and Purple in my mind. And I had. Purple needed reassurance and protection, and with you I could be as rough as I wanted. I had you segregated, then the lines blurred and I couldn't see the difference. I dreamt of Purple, but when I woke I was content that you were there next to me." Tak smiled and stroked her Tallest's velvety antenna.

Red closed his eyes and leaned into her touch, "My Tallest… my one and only Tallest." Red opened his eyes and started to kiss up and down her arm, then he moved to her shoulder and up her neck. He stopped and gently laid her back.

"Your not him, but that's why I love you." he kissed her and showed her how he'd once been to Purple. Tak sighed as he made love to her as herself, and not as his Purple substitute.
