An idea that popped up randomly. Okay, not even that. I wanted to write something Sai/Sakura, with a tragedy involved, and this was the result. It's shorter than any other story, but oh well. Just no flames.

Dear Naruto,
How are you, Rokudaime? I heard about you and Hinata! Congratulations!
Sai and I are expecting now! I know, you'll be an uncle!
I miss you a whole bunch, Naruto. I'm sorry we had to leave so sudden, but... It just happened, okay?
Do you miss me? I miss you, but I bet you know that!
So, how is Sasuke? I heard about him coming back to Konoha. That's awesome!
Well... That's all for this letter, sorry. I know it's short.
It doesn't matter though, you'll never get it.
But I'll try to send it to you anyways.
With much love,
Sakura.
Naruto gasped and sat up in his bed. His chest rose with heavy breaths. The pale girl beside him cracked open a pale eye.
"Naruto-kun? Are you alright?" Naruto felt tears flow down his cheeks.
"Sakura sent me a letter," he whispered. Hinata sat up, smiling.
"What did she say?" she asked.
"She said that she's happy about our wedding. And that Sasuke is back in Konoha. Plus, I'm going to be an uncle. Her and Sai are expecting."
"Really?" Hinata smiled, as Naruto began to sob. She felt tears prick at her own eyes. "We all miss her, Naruto. Both Sakura and Sai."
"I know," his voice cracked as he placed his face in the crook of her neck. Hinata stroked his back.
"At least she's keeping contact with us," she said, trying to be optimistic.
"Y-yeah. How many dead girls do you know that send letters from the grave?"
A pink haired girl fell to the ground, clutching the gaping wound in her chest. The dark haired boy under her gasped in shock.
"Sakura, why are you... doing this?" he asked, coughing up blood as each word escaped his parched throat.
"I love you, Sai. I'll protect you... with my life." Her bright green eyes became dull, as life began to fly from her body. Blood gushed out onto the boy underneath her, staining his skin and shirt with crimson.
"S-sakura... Please..." Sai weakly reached a hand up to her baby soft cheek. "Don't die because of me..." Sakura smiled back at him.
"I will, because this way, I'll die honorably. Face it, Sai, you're going to die. As am I. But if you die without me, I'll just die on the inside. That sounds much more painful." Sai rose up a bit, as Sakura slumped down.
They met kissing each other, as the life faded forever from their eyes.
An S-rank ANBU suicide mission they just couldn't beat.
But the embrace showed Naruto, when he finally found them, they died happily.
That's all he could ask for.
"I'm sorry, Naruto. But, we'll be waiting for you..." Naruto heard a ghostly voice whisper in his ear.
"They're waiting for us, Hinata-chan. And, we're sorry, too, Sakura."
Dear Naruto,
I wanted to write to you and tell you
I love you.
And that I'm sorry.
Sai and I are waiting for you!
Forever and ever!
Sakura!
PS: Please write back!
The end. Short and not very good. Oh well... No flames, or I'll be PO'd.
